Letter From your LTG

First off, I would really like to thank everyone who attended RTC! I hope that those who attended, learned a lot, met a lot of Key Clubbers, and had a chance to meet our district governor, Alyssa Yocom! If you have any comments (positive or negative) about this year’s conference, please e-mail me! I would love to hear your input! On another note, there are 27

days left until Fall Rally! I anticipate that you and your members are getting excited for this huge event! Hopefully, all of you have been fundraising for PTP because that is what Fall Rally is all about! Also, I hope that your club is planning to hope that your club is planning to bring many members because not only is it a lot of fun, but it’s a great way to get members interested in Key Club! Don’t let transportation get in the way! If it’s an issue, talk to me, your Kiwanis sponsors or other clubs in the division! So start clubs in the division! So start planning and I cannot wait to see everyone’s ROARING SPIRIT!

Starting this 2012-2013 school year, Folsom High School’s Key Club has interested many students at Folsom High. Over 230 sign ups at Club Rush and over 100 interested and eager students at their first meeting: How did they get these magnificent numbers? Here’s their secret. Over the summer, the officers from Folsom High School’s Key Club held a meeting Over the summer, the officers from Folsom High School’s Key Club held a meeting and discussed what they wanted to accomplish this year and how they would accomplish them. Their main goal was to increase membership and to get others to be very spirited in their division and get involved in Key Club outside of school. For Club Rush, officers got together to create posters to attract students during lunch. They made “Ask me how I feel signs”, informational posters, and general Key Club signs. At Club Rush, students asked the officers “do you feel?” and the officers did the chant multiple times. Students grew interested, turned toward officers did the chant multiple times. Furthermore, for their first meeting, the officers went all out in green, their division’s color, for the day. With green Key Club shirts, green necklaces, green shorts, green tutus, and even green morph suits, the officers wanted to make a statement on their first meeting day. At the meeting, the officers were expecting many students to come to their meeting but they did not expect the classroom to be filled with students. The eager, soon to be key clubbers were sitting in desks and on top of the desks, standing, kneeling, sitting on the floor, or could not even get into the classroom yet. The officers were surprised by this huge crowd and get into the classroom yet. The officers were surprised by this huge crowd and decided to move the meeting outside. Once they got outside, the officers taught them the “how do you feel?” chant, some ice breakers, and informed them on their upcoming events. For the next meeting, the officers will be educating the students with how the Key Club system works, and what RTC, FRN, and DCON will have in store for them. Folsom High School’s Key Club will definitely be a strong club this year. With their great number in size and devoted officers, their club will be making a difference in the community in no time.
