17 military families enjoyed a weekend of adventure at YMCA Camp Surf thisSeptember. Children challenged their parents to a race up the rock wall, ex-plored the sea creatures of the beach, and families bonded together overs 'mores around the camp fire. One family wrote, This wonderful experiencegave my family the opportunity to re-connect and bond in a relaxing environ-ment. We would not have been able to participate, had you not made this possi-ble. You have helped us to create lasting memories and have brought huge

smiles to my childrens faces, Thank you!

Wounded, injured, and ill service members at Naval Medical Centerenjoyed many excursions this past September. Our wonderful spon-sor, Barbara Abel, treated the wives, mothers, and caretakers ofwounded warriors to another spa day at the Hotel Del. The ladiesenjoyed a break from their busy lives with a massage, lunch, andthe good company of others. The ASYMCA took another group of

ten wounded servicemembers to experiencethe exhilarating feeling ofSail Plane gliding oversouthern Californias highdesert. Wounded servicemembers also enjoyedfishing with the SanDiego Anglers and had agreat time at Military Ap-preciation Day at the Del

    Mar Racetrack.
