“i have attended several schools in my collegiate career and out of

all of them, ocu was the complete package. the professors were

outstanding educators and student advocates. the administration

was approachable. the office of student financial aid was friendly

and responsive. But above all, the entire organization seemed aware

that the students were preparing for life after college and each class

or activity was geared toward making that transition easier and more

productive. the msa program in particular had a very clear focus

on connecting the academic world to the working world. i could not

have been better prepared.

had i not received the guidance from one of my

professors. this support system of professors and

advisors helped me to reach my full potential.

the need for nurses with higher degrees has never been greater. the graduates of Kramer school of nursing are especially in high demand because of the type of education and personalized mentor-ing they receive. as the premier private nursing school in oklahoma and the south central usa, Ksn’s strong faculty, highly successful fundraising and grant base, new facilities and outstanding university support for growth and innovation have allowed the school to achieve remarkable success. Ksn is also becoming a national leader as a provider of continuing education through its conferences on timely topics featuring nationally known speakers. the school is earning a special reputation as a center for

nursing education excellence that serves as a prototype for others, in that the faculty seeks continuous development as scholars and teach-ers and promote for themselves a culture and environment charac-terized by collegiality and mutual support for personal success. dr. marvel williamson’s philosophy as dean of Kramer school of nursing is that the type of care we want our students to give their patients and their own future students is the same ethic of true caring that we role model by respecting and edify-ing our students and each other.

msn, dnp and phd graduates (often even before graduation) commonly receive promotions at their current employment or have

been able to advance their careers in new ways such as becoming fac-ulty members at nursing schools or being hired as chief nursing officers in health care facilities. our gradu-ates have also been chief admin-istrators of hospitals, private duty nurses for u.s. presidents, and have opened schools of nursing in other countries. scholarships and federal traineeships are available to support graduate study.
