This week, L2 said goodbye to their usual classroom and had lessons in a variety of different locations around the school! There was registration in the meeting room, English in the art room and other lessons in a new room that, at one time, was used as the staff room! The students used all this moving around as an exercise in tolerance for others, being patient and keeping track of their personal possessions and everybody did really well. The class finally returned to their usual classroom on Wednesday to find the walls and doors painted a nice new shade of pastel blue. Of course the class had always known that this was the plan, but that didn’t make walking into our fresh new classroom any less exciting. In PE, L2 have been working hard on their curling skills. Good luck to Year 11 pupils!!!! Our ‘examination season’ has now started with Year 11 students taking one of their GCSE science papers this morning. Statements of Entry have been sent to the parents of all of the students who are taking examinations this year. If your child is in Year 11 and you are not sure whether or not they are taking any external exams, please phone Michele in the office.

School Uniform Now that summer seems to have arrived, could I please remind you that we still expect students to come to school in the correct school uniform. Although the sixth formers do not need to wear school uniform, they are expected to wear smart/casual appropriate clothing. The students (and staff) are only permitted to wear shorts if they are taking part in a PE activity. We appreciate that, from time to time, there may be some issues of safety and comfort for individual pupils which may necessitate some changes to the normal uniform and if this is the case, please let us know. S5 have had a fantastic week. Together, we have helped to re-organise the classroom and label it. In musical expression, the class have worked together to produce a couple of songs which we hope to burn on to a CD. We are all looking forward to a sunny half term break. Let’s hope the weather holds. Best wishes S5

From the classes.

L4 had a fantastic day out at Golder’s Hill Park. They had a walk and a picnic and enjoyed looking at the animals. Well done to Jack for swimming 3 metres on his own this week.

P2 made some gardens. We used trays and drilled holes in them for drainage. Then we put in some compost and then some turf on top. We chose pictures of our favourite things and then laminated them. Tom glued them onto lollypop sticks and then we put them into our gardens! Chris Evans: I’ve got James Bond. I like him. He’s a hero. Matthew Benabo: I like it. It’s a nice garden. Mohammed Aden: I like my pictures of Tychy Stryder and I’m going to do N-Dubz as well.

No Food Tech Room? No Problem!

L5 were not deterred by the lack of a Food Tech room today, as it was being painted. They took to the great outdoors and had a BBQ. The smells drifting through the school suggest it was successful.
