Wā Kainga Art Space Displays 22 June – 10 July 2020 Paraparaumu Art Space Purapura Whetū Come walk among the stars. We’ve been busy transforming the Art Space into a starry cavern. A place to sit, reflect and relax.

Poropiti & Shemaiah Rangitaawa Taonga Pūoro of Yesterday & Today Traditional Māori instruments Come along and hear Poropiti play and kōrero about Matariki. Titiro mai, titiro atu: Robbie’s Discovery Display at Paraparaumu Library 22 June - July During lockdown Robbie found a stash of treasures under his Paekākāriki whare. Come along and view his finds— it’s an interesting glimpse into our past.

Did you know the Māori word for June (Pipiri) means to cling together and keep close? The word for July (Hōngongoi) can also mean to crouch from the cold.
