There are still many voluntary internationalagreements that cannot be complied with by theparties, such as the Voluntary PartnershipAgreement-VPA between Indonesia and theEuropean Union in the tropical timber trade as theimplementation of forest sustainability standards.

Future improvements both internationally andnationally still need significant reinforcements

CHALLENGES

Build communication and collect references and aspirationsof parties in the context of developing Agendy forStandardization for Environment and Forestry Instrumentsoperations

There are 2 work lines that need to be developed, namelythe voluntary path and the mandatory path. Matters that arerelated or have a broad impact need to be implemented in amandatory manner, so that aspects of law enforcementneed to be implemented.

Work integration between echelon I work units, programintegration, communication, building a support systembetween entities with each other according to their dutiesand responsibilities.

Exploring licensing procedures related to Environment andForestry standards in accordance with Ombibus Law andtheir derivations as well as projecting the handling of aspectsthat are the mandate of the Ministry of Environment andForestry in environmental approvals for licensing andassistance to parties as well as fostering standardsupervision.
