Lae Snax Tigers is a Rugby
League Team that participates in
the Digicel cup in Papua New
Guinea. It has made its debut
into the Digicel Cup Competi-
tion early 2011. With its home
grown players from mostly Lae
area, it has looked to produce
potential representative players
to play for the Papua New
Guinea national team, the KU-
MULS and Hunters.
With the inclusion of their own
Tigerines and Mascot, it is the
first team ever in the history of
Papua New Guinea Rugby
League to have it. This has thus
brought a new level of enter-
tainment to the game itself. And
also, attracting more people to
come watch the game and enjoy
the entertainment.
It is promised that 2015 will be
the year of the Snax Tigers. The
coaching Staff have brought in
the team earlier this year to
train in advance before the
Digicel Cup kicks off.
They are very confident that the
breed of young talented players
can take the team all the way to
the finals and even possible,
winning the GRAND FINAL.
So far Tigers have started 2015
fresh with already having
achieved five wins and one loss
under their name. They current-

Tigers were too good against
the Rabaul Gurias over last
weekend. Even defeating them
on their on Home Soil in
Kalabond oval in Rabaul.
It was an intensive touch
match between the two
teams.
Tigers however came victori-
ous over the Rabaul Gurias
beating them 31 to 18.
Tigers coach Stanely Tepend
was pleased with the boys
performance and promised
that they will maintain the
winning streak all through this
season.
They now will go up against
the Prima Isapeas in Port
Moresby. All the best for
next weeks’ game.
