From the Pastor...
Dear Paw Creek Presbyterian Church family,
This past week we bid farewell to a man beloved by God and by us. The Rever-
end Gary Lee Bryant. He was a man of God who loved his family, his friends
and his church. In tribute to a life well lived in service to God for forty four
years, of which thirty four were spent at Paw Creek, I want to honor Gary’s name
through Scripture.
God’s grace is sufficient
Acknowledge Jesus before men and Jesus will acknowledge you before His Father
Righteousness guards the man of integrity
Your young men will see visions and your old men will dream dreams
Blessed is the man who finds wisdom
Run in such a way as to get the prize
You, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High
Accept the word planted in you, which can save you
Nothing is too hard for you
Taste and see that the Lord is good
Isaiah 40:31 (NRSV) 31 but those who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings
like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Rest well friend. You have run the race of the Lord and you have finished it.

Blessing Rocks have been hidden through out the church property by Elizabeth Kincaid. They are painted and have a bible verse on them. It is our hope that when someone finds the rock they will be blessed and so moved to share the blessing with others by re hiding the rock for someone else to find OR painting a few of their own rocks to hide on the property. A challenge blessing rock has also been hidden in which the finder is to put $1 in the envelope and then rehide the rock for the next person. The person that finds the rock and adds the 20th dollar is to then donate that money to the Ronald McDonald house of Charlotte in name of Paw Creek
Presbyterian (again we're passing along the blessing. ☺) If you find a rock, take a picture with the rock and post to Facebook with #PawCreekRocks. Are you up for the challenge Paw Creek????

Paw Creek Presbyterian Church Playground Fundraiser
Paw Creek has installed a new playground. To help raise money for the playground upgrade we are selling brick pavers. The brick pavers will be incorporated in a prayer garden to improve the look of the entrance to the church.
Each brick paver cost $40
Perfect gift for that hard to buy for special person in your life to celebrate their birthday, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation, Anniversary, etc. Wording examples are family names, bible verses, sayings, in honor and in memory of loved ones, to celebrate baptisms, groups, classes, etc.
Order forms are available in the Narthex and the Church Office.

I would like to get the ball rolling for our upcoming fall/winter youth ministry at Paw! Here is an event some of us can attend at Rev. Cannon's husband's church to help us grow and envision as community:
Join us for "Youth Engage" day! This is a free event that will give middle school and high school students the opportunity to gather and explore activities for youth ministry. A light and healthy breakfast will be served at 10am followed by youth and parent activities. Bring ideas and questions as we "engage" in youth ministry. We look forward to seeing you there!

Movie Night
Acts 16:5 and Presbyterian Women are having a movie night Friday August 4th. The movie is “The Shack” and Veronica will lead the discussion afterwards. There will be a Taco Bar for dinner hosted by Presbyterian Women at 6pm with the movie starting by 7pm in the CFC. Transportation will be provided by Amy McGee and the Church bus to anyone interested. We will provide childcare, but we are still looking for someone to do that if someone would like to volunteer! Please reach out to Karen Sisk with any questions or concerns you might have. This is a great opportunity to invite your friends and neighbors to a fun night at Paw Creek.

Thrift UMC has started collecting supplies already and collecting $donations designated for supplies. They are bulk wholesale ordering book bags, but need a lot of supplies for multiple schools this year. A few more details are in the link to the Facebook Event:
