Student Intern – J Exchange Visitor
Purpose Expose intern to “American techniques,
methodologies, and technology” NOT employment, only work-based learning
Focus and Nature Does not have to be in the field of study, but must
fulfill educational objectives (current degree) No more than 20% clerical work May be paid or unpaid
Student Intern – J Exchange Visitor
Duration Internship must be full-time (minimum of 32 hours/week) May participate in a program up to 12 months for each
degree/major Eligibility
Currently enrolled in and pursuing a degree program outside the U.S.
Verifiable English language skills In good academic standing and must return to home
country to finish the degree program
