Vendors who meet the minimum qualifications identified in the RFSQ and accept the terms and conditions of the MA to become County contractors in the specific category for which they qualified.

Best Practices
Best Practices
• Be responsive.
• Recognize that the County of Los Angeles is comprised of over 35 departments and is a separate entity from the city and state.
• Each department has it’s own unique mission which impacts its needs, recognizing these differences will save time and effort.
• Prepare yourself by asking to see prior bids and proposals (public record).
• Request feedback if your bid is not selected.
• Attend debriefings to identify strengths and weaknesses of your proposals.
• Know the lingo.
Best Practices
• Reach out to Small Business Advocates to market your business and learn about potential opportunities.
• Attend networking events.
• Create a capability statement.
• Know where to find current opportunities and research past solicitations.
• Learn the different types of Master Agreements available for commodities and for services.
• Know that unsolicited bids and proposals are rarely accepted.
• Invest time into developing your vendor profile.
• Check out this FAQ for vendors.
• Get certified!
Thank You!
