Ethics Commission Activity

40 formal advisory opinions in 2013

Each formal advisory opinions requires substantial work. This includes the receipt of the request, legal

research, a public hearing to receive evidence and arguments, and then the drafting and issuance of the

formal advisory opinions which are then posted on the website (www.in.gov/ig).

In 2013, the investigations of Inspector General Special Agents

resulted in five criminal arrests and the filing of three ethics complaints
