Dear Sir:

/ire you not about ready to resume your law studies? We know you w il l never regret completing our Course and you w il l have accomplished one o f the b ig things in l i f e .

You cannot afford to miss the opportunity to do something more than the average man. Do matter whether you practice law or not, a legal education w i l l place you head and shoulders above the man who never studied law. The degree o f LL. B. has a recognized standard which no one can take from you.

You have made a good beginning, why not continue? Don’ t give up your ambition; don’ t be a qu itter.

I f i t is a question o f expense, we w il l arrang the tu ition to suit your convenience; w ill furnish text-books as cheaply as possible or w il l even loan them to you free o f charge.

.ssuring you o f our best wishes and desire to help you in every way possible, and hoping to hear from you by return mail, we are

Side Talks to Pupils4J The course consists of ten lessons, forwarded one at a time. Five require written work. The student sends in his Reply Sheet to be examined, corrected, and returned to him with the next lesson.

Try to set aside a certain period of each day for the study of the lessons. The morning is the best time for mental work. Pay strict attention to the directions.

Dear Mr. Skota:-

I have not yet received the Reply Sheet to the la s t lesson sent you.

I t is my great desire-to have you go on with the work STEADILY because I want you to reap the benefits that w i l l surely c6me to you a3 the re sult o f conscientious and persistent e f f o r t in improving your memory by fo llow ing the d irections given in my Course o f Memory Training.

41 Be content to learn a little at a time, but learn it thoroly. Be satisfied with a little gain each day. Failure may result from attempting to accomplish too much at one time. Remember you are endeavoring to correct wrong mental habits of years’ standing;—do not expect to overcome them in a week.In time you will be able to master pages where now you cannot remember lines.

I know that i t is d i f f i c u l t fo r many o f my students to find the time required fo r the work, but I b e lieve that almost every person can find a few spare minutes each day. I would advise you to get up about twenty minutes e a r l ie r in the morning, as you w i l l find that you can do better mental work a f te r a n igh t 's rest. I t is tru ly wonderful what can be accomplished by regular, systematic, and pers istent e f fo r t in any d irection .

41 Do not take up the Second Lesson until you know the First. Permanent results are secured only by the complete mastery of each principle.

Trusting to rece ive a le t t e r from you in the near future, t e l l in g me o f your progress and requesting that the next lesson be sent you, I am with best wishes,

1} Enjoy your work. At first it may seem difficult, but good habits of study, once cultivated, give real satisfaction.

41 Study each lesson with the determination to remember it for all time. It is folly to cram for a special occasion and forget everything later.

41 The habit of aimless reading of newspapers and magazines has destroyed thousands of good memories. Limit your reading to what is essential. Read less and observe more.
