SAMPLE BALLOT INSIDE!

A message from your Supervisor of ElectionsDear Leon County Voter,

I’m Mark Earley, Leon County Supervisor of Elections. Although I am new to

the position of Supervisor, I have a long history working for the voters of Leon

County. I have a passion for democracy and hold dear the trust you place in this

office every time you vote.

In 2018, voters will make many crucial decisions about the future of government that will directly impact

your lives. U.S. Congressional seats, Governor and other state level contests, many Leon County and City

of Tallahassee races, state constitutional amendments, and even county and city charter referenda will be

decided this fall.

What you may not realize is that many of these contests could be decided on August 28th. This election

features many local races, and they are open to all voters regardless of party affiliation. Often, the top

vote-getters in these races receive enough votes to win outright and avoid the need to run in November.

So if you skip the August election, you could miss your opportunity to have an impact in these contests.

That’s why I urge you to come out and Vote Local on August 28th. Your vote does make a difference!

Speaking of making a difference, Leon County has led the way in elections integrity, transparency, and

security for many years. Some examples:

• We recently upgraded our voting system to one of the most modern and secure paper-based

systems available to ensure your votes are safe.

• We designed the most comprehensive planning and tracking software in the elections industry to

ensure the critical components of your elections are always secure.

• After years of design and testing, we recently deployed the nation’s only election audit system that

verifies 100% of your votes on every ballot in every election. This technology is game-changing

and provides a level of assurance that Leon County’s election results are accurate and reliable.

Why do we do all of this? Because elections integrity is the bedrock of our nation, and as your Supervisor

of Elections, it is my job to provide

outstanding voter services and secure

elections you can trust.

Sincerely,

Mark S. Earley

Supervisor of Elections Leon County
