MINI Many Passes
Does your MINI have a need for mountain roads, curves & passes? Then your MINI is invited to
participate in an epic drive this summer. The 1st running of MINI Many Passes will take place June
28, 29 & 30th 2011.
Have you ever wondered just how many mountain passes there are in Colorado? Ever thought of
driving over all the paved ones........all in one drive?!! I have! And I have put together a route that
crosses every 9,000ft and higher paved road pass in Colorado, of which there are 35, covers over
2,000 miles of superb mountain roads and should take 3 long days to complete.
If this idea appeals to your MINI and you then come on and join the fun! If interested please
contact me (Tracy Smith) by e-mail at [email protected]

Oversize Load? Photo submitted by Jean Allais
I was at a truck stop and parked where there were absolutely no other vehicles. Went in for a cup of
coffee, and when I went back outside this is what I saw.
Two captions come to mind:
“I know Swearengen is larger than Carmela, but do you really think this is necessary?”
or “Do you think black makes my boot look big?”
“Swearengen” (Jean’s new Countryman)

WWA Car Show By Teena Craighill
A total of 8 MINIs came and went to the FREE Car Show
at Woodrow Wilson Academy on Saturday, March 12. A
variety of other classics, hot rods and new models were
also on display. The Academy provided free breakfast
items such as coffee and donuts and also provided free
hot dogs, chips and drinks for lunch. There was also a
book sale, carnival games, face painting and some
vendors selling their goods. The Rocky Mountain Puppy
Rescue (rmpuppyrescue.org) was on-hand with some
adorable pups. The weather held out for most of the day
and by closing time was cold and windy. There was no
judging or prizes awarded but It was a good turn-out, fun
and free!

Leprechaun Run By Teena Craighill
The much anticipated Leprechaun Run was March 19...MINIs met up at the Brewing Market in Lafayette. 15
MINIS total left the lot just after 10am. Beautiful weather and lots of twisty roads were
‘o plenty. Drove up through the foothills onto the Peak to Peak highway...went through
Ward, Nederland and stopped for lunch at the WonderVu Café. As always, the staff
was prepared and ready for us. A new Countryman owner drove up from the Springs
to meet up with us at the WonderVu. It was a bit windy when lunch was finished and
most continued on the route continuing south and some had to return home heading
north. Thanks again to MINI5280 club member Jamie Shope for putting this ride
together! Any club member can do the same—if you have ideas for rides, please
share them! Photos by Don Suiter and Teena Craighill

I have a very nice condition K&N Typhoon Cold Air Intake (Part # 69-2020TR) on my 2005 MINI;
naturally aspirated. It is our desire to convert our intake system back to stock; so that I can run in the
stock SCCA Solo H Class.
I would like to receive $100.00 for my intake; plus a trade of a stock intake system. I am happy to do
the install on both cars.

69 Series Typhoon Kits > Performance Intake Kit
Built for performance and show, the 69 Series Typhoon™ Air
Intake System is a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum tube
induction system designed to fit many sport compact performance
vehicles. Typhoon intakes come in one of three designs; cold air
intakes (CA), short ram intakes (SR), or complete cold air (CCA)
intakes which can be configured as either a cold air intake or a short
ram intake. Some Typhoon's have high quality finish options
including polished aluminum, powder coated red, and powder coated
silver among others. K&N intake systems replace your vehicle's
restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. K&N intakes are
