800Introduction

800.01DescriptionoftheGame

Theobjectofthegameofdiscgolfistotraverseacoursefrombeginningtoendinthefewestthrowsofthedisc.Thecompetitorwhoplaysthestipulatedroundorroundsinthefewestthrowspluspenaltythrowsisthewinner.

Playoneachholebeginsattheteeingareaandendsatthetarget.Aftertheplayerhasthrownfromthetee,eachsuccessivethrowismadefromwherethepreviousthrowcametorest.Oncompletingahole,theplayerproceedstotheteeingareaofthenexthole,untilallholeshavebeenplayed.

Discgolfcoursesarenormallylaidoutinandaroundwoodedareaswithdiverseterraintoprovidenaturalobstaclestotheflightofthedisc.Thesenaturalobstaclesareverymuchapartofthegameandmustnotbealteredbyaplayerinanywaytodecreasethedifficultyofahole.Playersmustplaythecourseastheyfinditandplaythediscwhereitliesunlessallowedotherwisebytheserules.

800.02Definitions

ApproximateLieAlieestablishedbytheplayer'sgroupinordertoresumeplayfromaliewhichisnotmarked.

ApproximatePositionApositionestablishedbytheplayer'sgroupthatisascloseaspossibletotheoriginalpositionofthedisc.

PlayingSurfaceAsurface,generallytheground,whichiscapableofsupportingtheplayerandfromwhichastancecanreasonablybetaken.Aplayingsurfacemayexistaboveorbelowanotherplayingsurface.Incaseswhereitisunclearwhetherasurfaceisaplayingsurface,thedecisionshallbemadebytheDirectororanofficial.

PoleAcentralpipeorpostwhichsupportstheothercomponentsofabaskettarget.

PositionThelocationofthediscafterithasbeenthrownandhasinitiallycometorest.

PracticeThrowAthrowofmorethantwometersduringacompetitiveroundthatdoesnotchangethelie.Provisionalthrows,misplayedthrows,andstanceviolationsarenotpracticethrows.

PreviousLieThelieresultingfromthemostrecentthrow,asevidencedbythemarkerdiscor,ifthemarkerdischasbeenmoved,thecorrespondingapproximatelie.

801General

801.01ApplicationoftheRules

A. Theseruleshavebeendesignedtopromotefairplayforalldiscgolfers.Inusingtheserules,playersshallapplytherulethatmostdirectlyaddressesthesituationathand.Ifanypointindisputeisnotcoveredbytherules,thedecisionshallbemadeinaccordancewithfairness.Oftenalogicalextensionoftheclosestexistingruleortheprinciplesembodiedintheseruleswillprovideguidancefordeterminingfairness.

B. Playersareexpectedtocallaviolationwhenonehasclearlyoccurred.Callsmustbemadepromptly.

C. Ifindoubt,playersmayattempttoconsultanofficial.Ifnoneisavailable,playershavetheoptionofproceedingwithprovisionalthrowsasdescribedin804.06.

D. Aplayershallnotreceiveawarningforarulesviolationunlesstherulespecificallyprovidesforawarning.Warningsdonotcarryoverfromoneroundtothenextroundortoaplayoff.

E. Arulesviolationthatresultsinawarningmaybecalledbyanyplayerinthegroup,orbyanofficial.Allplayersinthegroupshallbeadvisedofthewarning,anditshallbenotedonthescorecard.

F. Arulesviolationthatresultsinoneormorepenaltythrowsmaybecalledbyanyplayerinthegroup,orbyanofficial.Ifcalledbyaplayer,itmustthenbesecondedbyanotherplayerinthegroup.

G. Unlessotherwisestated,anydeterminationmadebythegroupasawholeshallbemadebyamajorityofthegroup,orbyanofficial.

H. Athroworanactionthatissubjecttopenaltyundermorethanoneruleshallbemarkedand/orpenalizedinaccordancewiththerulethatresultsinthemostpenaltythrows,or,amongrulesthatcallforanequalpenalty,therulethatwasfirstviolated.

801.02DiscsUsedinPlay

A. DiscsusedinplaymustmeetalloftheconditionssetforthinthePDGATechnicalStandards.

B. Adiscwhichhasbeenmodifiedafterproductionsuchthatitsoriginalflightcharacteristicshavebeenalteredisillegal,exceptingwearfromusageduringplayandthemoderatesandingofdiscstosmoothmoldingimperfectionsorscrapes.Discsexcessivelysandedorpaintedwithamaterialofdetectablethicknessareillegal.

C. Adiscwhichiscrackedorperforatedisillegal.

D. AdiscthatisquestionedbyanotherplayeroranofficialisillegalunlessitissubsequentlyapprovedbytheDirector.

E. Aplayerwhothrowsanillegaldiscduringplayshallreceivetwopenaltythrows,withoutawarning.AplayerwhorepeatedlythrowsanillegaldiscduringtheroundmaybesubjecttodisqualificationinaccordancewithSection3.3ofthePDGACompetitionManual.

F. Alldiscsusedinplay,exceptminimarkerdiscs,mustbe

uniquelymarked.Aplayershallreceiveawarningforthefirstinstanceofthrowinganunmarkeddisc.Eachsubsequentthrowbytheplayerwithanunmarkeddiscshallincuronepenaltythrow.

801.03ArtificialDevices

A. Duringaround,aplayershallnotuseanyartificialdevicethatmaydirectlyassistinmakingathrow,exceptthosedevicesthatreduceorcontrolabrasiontotheskin(suchasgloves,tape,bandages,orgauze)andmedicalitems(suchaskneeoranklebraces).Placinganobjectasadirectionalaidisnotallowed.Anitemsuchasatowelorapadmaybeplacedonthelieaslongasitisnotgreaterthanonecentimeterinthicknesswhencompressed.

B. AdevicethatisquestionedbyanotherplayeroranofficialisillegalunlessitissubsequentlyapprovedbytheDirector.

C. Aplayershallreceivetwopenaltythrows,withoutawarning,ifobservedatanytimeduringaroundtobeusinganillegalartificialdevice.AplayerwhorepeatedlyusesanillegaldevicemaybesubjecttodisqualificationinaccordancewithSection3.3ofthePDGACompetitionManual.

801.04Courtesy

A. Playersshouldnotthrowuntiltheyarecertainthatthethrowndiscwillnotdistractanotherplayerorpotentiallyinjureanyonepresent.

B. Playersshouldwatchtheothermembersoftheirgroupthrowin

ordertoaidinlocatingerrantthrowsandtoensurecompliancewiththerules.

C. Playersshouldtakecarenottoproduceanyauditoryorvisualdistractionswhileotherplayersarethrowing.Distractingactionsinclude:shouting,cursing,freestyling,strikingcourseequipment,throwingoutofturn,throwingorkickinggolfbags,throwingminis,andadvancingonthefairwaybeyondtheawayplayer.Shoutingatanappropriatetimetowarnsomeoneindangerofbeingstruckbyadiscisnotacourtesyviolation.

D. Refusaltoperformanactionexpectedbytherules,suchasassistinginthesearchforalostdisc,movingdiscsorequipment,orkeepingscoreproperly,isacourtesyviolation.

E. Litteringisacourtesyviolation.

F. Courtesydictatesthatplayerswhosmokeshouldnotallowtheirsmoketodisturbotherplayers.Disposingofacigarettebuttbydroppingitonthegroundislittering.

G. Aplayerviolatingacourtesyrulemaybewarnedbyanyaffectedplayer,eveniffromanothergroup,orbyanofficial.Theplayershallbeassessedonepenaltythrowforeachsubsequentcourtesyviolationofanytypeinthesameround.RepeatedviolationsofcourtesyrulesmayresultindisqualificationinaccordancewithSection3.3oftheCompetitionManual.

801.05OrderOfPlay

A. Teeingorderforthefirstholetobeplayedisdeterminedbytheorderinwhichtheplayersarelistedonthescorecard(s).

B. Teeingorderonallsubsequentholesisdeterminedbythescoresontheprevioushole,withthelowestscorethrowingfirst,andsoon.Ifthepreviousholewasatie,thescoresaretobecountedbackuntiltheorderisresolved.

C. Afteralltheplayersinthegrouphaveteedoff,theawayplayerthrowsnext.Afterthatandeachsubsequentthrow,theplayerwhoisthentheawayplayerthrowsnext,untilallplayersinthegrouphaveholedout.

D. Tofacilitateflowofplay,aplayerwhoisnottheawayplayermaythrowiftheawayplayerconsents.

E. Duringtournamentplay,nogroupmayplaythroughthegroupaheadunlessthegroupaheadisrequiredtostandasideinaccordancewiththerulesorasdirectedbyanofficial.

F. Throwingoutofturnisacourtesyviolation.

801.06PracticeThrows

A. Apracticethrowmadeduringtheroundshallresultinonepenaltythrowbeingaddedtothethrower'sscore.

802BasicRulesOfPlay

802.01TeeingOff

A. Playbeginsoneachholewiththeplayerthrowingfromwithintheteeingarea.Whenthediscisreleased,theplayermusthaveatleastonesupportingpointincontactwiththesurfaceoftheteeingarea,andallsupportingpointsmustbeincontactonlywiththesurfaceoftheteeingarea.Supportingpointcontactoutsidetheteeingareaisallowedifitcomesbeforeorafter,andnotat,themomentthediscisreleased.

B. Anysupportingpointcontactoutsidetheteeingareaatthetimeofreleaseconstitutesastanceviolationandshallbehandledinaccordancewithsections802.04EandF.

802.02EstablishingPosition

A. Thethrowndiscestablishesapositionwhereitfirstcomestorest.

B. Adiscisconsideredtobeatrestonceitisnolongermovingasaresultofthemomentumimpartedbythethrow.Adiscinwaterorfoliageisconsideredtobeatrestonceitismovingonlyasaresultofmovementofthewater,thefoliage,orthewind.

C. Ifthediscfirstcomestorestaboveorbelowtheplayingsurface,itspositionisontheplayingsurfacedirectlybeloworabovethedisc.

D. Ifthethrowndiscbreaksintopieces,thelargestpieceisdeemedtobethethrowndisc.

E. Ifthethrowndischasmovedafteritfirstcametorestonthein-boundsplayingsurface,itshallbereplacedtoitsapproximateposition.Ifitfirstcametorestelsewhere,thediscneednotbereplaced,andanydeterminationsaremaderelativetowhereitfirstcametorest.

802.03MarkingTheLie

A. Thepositionofathrowndisconthein-boundsplayingsurfacemarksitslie.

B. Alternatively,aminimarkerdiscmaybeusedtomarktheliebyplacingitontheplayingsurface,touchingthefrontofthethrowndisconthelineofplay.

C. Aplayerisrequiredtomarktheliewithaminimarkerdiscinthefollowingsituations:

1. Markinganapproximatelie;

2. Markingadiscaboveorbelowtheplayingsurface(see802.02.C);

3. Relocatingtheliewithinonemeterofanout-of-boundsarea(see802.03.D);

4. Takingrelief(see803.01).

D. Ifthepositionofthethrowndiscisin-boundsbutwithinonemeterofanout-of-boundsline,theliemaybemarkedbyplacingaminimarkerdiscontheplayingsurfaceatanypointonaone-meterlinethatextendsperpendicularlyfromthenearestpointontheout-of-boundslineandpassesthroughthecenterofthe

throwndisc,evenifthedirectiontakesthelieclosertothetarget.Forthepurposeofmarkingthelie,theout-of-boundslinerepresentsaverticalplane.

E. Ifalargesolidobstaclepreventstheplayerfromtakingalegalstancebehindthemarkerdisc,theplayermayinsteadmarktheliebyplacingaminimarkerdiscontheplayingsurfaceimmediatelybehindthatobstacleonthelineofplay.

F. Amarkerdiscthatismovedpriortotheensuingthrowshallbereplacedtoitsoriginalpositiontomarktheapproximatelie.

G. Aplayershallreceiveawarningforthefirstviolationofamarkingrule.Onepenaltythrowshallbeassessedforeachsubsequentviolationofanymarkingruleduringtheround.

802.04ThrowingfromaStance

A. Aplayermustchoosethestancethatwillresultintheleastmovementofanypartofanyobstaclethatisapermanentorintegralpartofthecourse.Oncealegalstanceistaken,theplayermaynotmoveanobstacleinanywayinordertomakeroomforathrowingmotion.Itislegalforaplayer'sthrowingmotiontocauseincidentalmovementofanobstacle.

B. Whenthediscisreleased,aplayermust:

1. Haveatleastonesupportingpointthatisincontactwiththelie;and,

2. Havenosupportingpointincontactwiththemarkerdiscoranyobject(includingtheplayingsurface)closertothetargetthantherearedgeofthemarkerdisc;and,

3. Haveallsupportingpointsin-bounds.

C. Supportingpointcontactwithorbeyondthemarkerdiscispermittedafterthediscisreleased,exceptwhenputting.

D. Putting:Anythrowfromwithin10metersofthetarget,asmeasuredfromtherearofthemarkerdisctothebaseofthetarget,isaputt.Supportingpointcontactclosertothetargetthantherearedgeofthemarkerdiscafterthedischasbeenreleasedisastanceviolation.Theplayermustdemonstratefullcontrolofbalancebeforeadvancingtowardthetarget.

E. Aplayershallreceiveawarningforthefirststanceviolationintheround.Subsequentstanceviolationsinthesameroundshallincuraone-throwpenalty.Stanceviolationsmaynotbecalledorsecondedbythethrower.

F. Anythrowmadefromanillegalstanceisdisregarded.Are-throwmustbetakenfromtheoriginallie,priortosubsequentplaybyothersinthegroup.

802.05HolingOut

A. BasketTargets:Inordertoholeout,thethrowermustreleasethediscanditmustcometorestsupportedbythechainsand/ortheinnercylinder(bottomandinsidewall)ofthetray.Itmaybeadditionallysupportedbythepole.Adiscthatentersthetargetbelowthetopofthetrayorabovethebottomofthechainsupportisnotholedout.

B. ObjectTargets:Inordertoholeout,thethrowermustreleasethediscanditmuststrikethemarkedtargetareaontheobjectasspecifiedbytheDirector.

803.01ObstaclesAndRelief

A. ObstaclestoaStanceorThrowingMotion:Withtheexceptionofcasualobstaclestoastanceasdescribedbelow,aplayerisnotallowedtomoveanyobstacleonthecourse.Noreliefisgrantedfromparkequipment(suchassigns,trashcans,orpicnictables),whichisconsideredtobepartofthecourse.Aplayerisallowedtorequestthatotherpeopleremovethemselvesand/ortheirbelongingsfromtheplayer'sstanceorlineofplay.

B. CasualObstaclestoaStance:Aplayermayobtainreliefonlyfromthefollowingobstaclesthatareonorbehindthelie:casualwater,looseleavesordebris,brokenbranchesnolongerconnectedtoatree,motorvehicles,harmfulinsectsoranimals,players'equipment,people,oranyitemorareaspecificallydesignatedbytheDirectorbeforetheround.Toobtainrelief,theplayermustremovetheobstacleifitispracticaltodoso.Ifitisimpracticaltomovetheobstacle,theplayer'sliemayberelocatedtothenearestliewhichisnoclosertothetarget,isonthelineofplay,andisnotmorethanfivemetersfromtheoriginallie(unlessgreatercasualreliefisannouncedbytheDirector).

C. Courseequipmentmayalwaysberestoredtoitsproperworkingorder,includingtheclearingofobstacles.

D. Aplayershallreceiveonepenaltythrow,withoutawarning,forviolationofanobstacleorreliefrule.

E. Aplayerwhopurposelydamagesanypartofthecourseshall

A. OptionalRelief.Aplayermayelectatanytimetotakeoptionalrelief.Theliemaythenberelocatedtoanewliewhichisnoclosertothetarget,andisonthelineofplay.Onepenaltythrowshallbeaddedtotheplayer'sscore.

B. OptionalRe-throw.Aplayermayelectatanytimetore-throwfromthepreviouslie.Theoriginalthrowplusonepenaltythrowshallbecountedintheplayer'sscore.

803.03Misplay

A. Itistheresponsibilityoftheplayertoplaythecoursecorrectly.Beforeplaybegins,playersshallattendtheplayers'meetingandlearnaboutanyspecialconditionsthatmayexistonthecourse,includingextraholes,alternateteeingareas,alternateholeplacements,out-of-boundsareas,mandatories,anddropzones.

B. Amisplayhasoccurrediftheplayerhasfailedtocompleteeveryholeonthecoursecorrectlyandintheproperorder,orhasplayedfromanincorrectlieforanythrow.

C. Ininstanceswherethemisplayrulesaffectplayerswithinagroupdifferently,thegroupshallremaintogetherwhileaholeisbeingcompletedbysomeofthegroupinordertoverifyscoringandrulescompliance.

D. Ininstanceswhereamisplayisdiscoveredaftertheplayerhas

E. Amisplayisnotastanceviolation,norisitapracticethrow.

F. AplayerwhodeliberatelymisplaysthecoursetogaincompetitiveadvantageshallbepenalizedinaccordancewithSection3.3oftheCompetitionManual.

G. Typesofmisplay:

1. IncorrectLie.Theplayerhas:

a. Teedofffromateeingareathatisnotthecorrectteeingareaforthecurrenthole;or,

b. Thrownfromalieestablishedbyadiscotherthanthethrowndisc;or,

c. Playedanout-of-boundsdiscasifitwerein-bounds;or,

d. Thrownfromalieestablishedbyapreviousthrowwhichpassedamandatoryonthewrongside.

Ifnosubsequentthrowshavebeenmadeafterthemisplayedthrow,theplayershallcontinueplayfromthecorrectlieandbeassessedaone-throwpenaltyforthemisplay.Ifanadditionalthroworthrowshavebeenmadeafterthemisplayedthrow,theplayershallcompletetheholebeingplayedandbeassessedatwo-throwpenaltyforthemisplay.

2. WrongTarget.Theplayerhasholedoutonatargetthatisnotthetargetfortheholebeingplayed.Ifnosubsequent

3. FailureToHoleOut.Theplayerhasteedoffonaholewithouthavingholedoutontheprevioushole.Thescoreforthemisplayedholeshallbethenumberofthrowsmade,plusoneforholingout,plustwopenaltythrowsforthemisplay.Theplayermustnotactuallyholeoutontheprevioushole.Intentionallyfailingtoholeoutconstituteswithdrawalfromcompetition.

4. Non-SequentialPlay.Theplayerhascompletedplayonaholeinthewrongorder.Theplayershallproceedtoplaythecourseinitsproperorder.Regardlessofthenumberofholesskippedorplayedinthewrongorderduringtheround,atotaloftwopenaltythrowsshallbeaddedtotheplayer'stotalscoreforthemisplay.Thescoreearnedfromanycompletedholeshallstand,andanycompletedholeshallnotbereplayed.

5. MissedHoleDueToLateArrival.Theplayerhasfailedtoplayaholeduetolatearrival.Theplayerreceivesascoreofparplusfourforthehole.SeeSection1.5BoftheCompetitionManual.

6. OmittedHole.Theroundhasbeencompleted,andtheplayerhasneglectedtoplayahole.Theholeisscoredthesameasaholemissedduetolatearrival.

7. IncorrectHole.Theplayerhascompletedplayonaholethat

804.01ExcessiveTime

B. Aplayershallreceiveawarningforthefirstexcessivetimeviolation.Theplayershallbeassessedonepenaltythrowforeachsubsequentexcessivetimeviolationinthesameround.

804.02Mandatories

A. Amandatoryrestrictsthepaththediscmaytaketothetarget.Adiscmustpassthecorrectsideofthemandatorybeforetheholeiscompleted.Adischaspassedthemandatoryonceitestablishesapositionbeyondthemandatoryline.

1. Themandatorylineisthelinemarkedbythedirectororcoursedesignertoindicatewhenadischaspassedormissedthemandatory.

2. Ifnolinehasbeenmarked,themandatorylineisdefinedasastraightlinethroughthemandatory,perpendiculartothelineconnectingthemandatorytothepreviousmandatory,or

C. Athrowthathasmissedthemandatoryresultsinaone-throwpenalty.Thenextthrowshallbemadefromthedropzone,asdesignatedforthatmandatory.

D. Ifnodropzonehasbeendesignated,theplayershallplayfromthepreviouslie.

E. If,afteramandatoryhasbeenpassed,asubsequentthrowcrossesthemandatorylineonthecorrectsidebutinthereversedirection,themandatoryhasnolongerbeenpassed.Theplayermuststillpassthemandatoryonthecorrectside.Alineconnectingtheliesfortheholemustpasstothecorrectsidesofallmandatoriesforthehole.

F. Thenearestmandatorywhichhasnotyetbeenpassedisconsideredtobethetargetforallrulesrelatedtomarkingthelie,stance,obstacles,andrelief,ifthelineofplaydoesnotpasstothecorrectsideofthatmandatory.

804.03Interference

A. Athrowndiscthatstrikesapersonoranimalisplayedwhereit

C. Athrowndiscatrestthathasbeenmovedshallbereplacedtoitsapproximateposition(see802.02.E).Amarkerdiscatrestthathasbeenmovedshallbereplacedtomarktheapproximatelie(see802.03.F).

D. Aplayerwhointentionallyinterfereswithanotherplayer'sdiscinanyofthefollowingwaysshallreceivetwopenaltythrows:

1. Alteringthecourseofathrowndisc(otherthantopreventinjury);or,

2. Movingathrowndiscorminimarkerdisc(otherthanintheprocessofidentification,retrieval,ormarking);or,

3. Obscuringathrowndiscorminimarkerdisc.

E. Aplayerwhosethrowndiscwasintentionallyinterferedwithbyanotherplayerasdescribedin804.03.D.1hastheoptionofare-throw.

F. Playersshallnotstandorleavetheirequipmentwhereinterferencewithadiscinplaymayoccur.Aplayermayrequireotherplayerstomovethemselvesortheirequipmentifeithercouldinterferewiththethrow.Refusaltodosoisacourtesyviolation.

G. Alteringthecourseofathrowndiscwiththeconsentofthe

804.04Out-of-Bounds

A. Adiscisout-of-boundsifitspositionisclearlyandcompletelysurroundedbyanout-of-boundsarea.See802.02.Bfordeterminingwhenadiscinwaterorfoliagehascometorest.

B. Theout-of-boundslineispartoftheout-of-boundsarea.

C. Adiscthatcannotbefoundisconsideredtobeout-ofboundsifthereisreasonableevidencethatthedisccametorestwithinanout-of-boundsarea.Intheabsenceofsuchevidence,thediscisconsideredlostandplayproceedsaccordingtorule804.05.

D. Aplayerwhosediscisout-of-boundsshallreceiveonepenaltythrow.Theplayermayelecttoplaythenextthrowfrom:

1. Thepreviouslie;or,

2. Aliethatisuptoonemeterawayfromandperpendiculartothepointwherethedisclastcrossedintoout-of-bounds,evenifthedirectiontakesthelieclosertothetarget;or,

3. Withinthedesignateddropzone,ifprovided.

ThoseoptionsmaybelimitedbytheDirectorasaspecialconditiononlybypriorapprovalofthePDGATourManager.

E. Theout-of-boundslinerepresentsaverticalplane.Whereaplayer'slieismarkedfromaparticularpointwithinonemeterof

804.05LostDisc

A. Adiscshallbedeclaredlostiftheplayercannotlocateitwithinthreeminutesafterarrivingatthespotwhereitwaslastseen.Anyplayerinthegrouporanofficialmaybeginthetimingofthethreeminutes,andmustinformthegroupthatthetiminghasbegun.Allplayersinthegroupmustassistinsearchingforthedisc.Thediscshallbedeclaredlostuponexpirationofthethreeminutes.

B. Aplayerwhosediscisdeclaredlostshallreceiveonepenaltythrow.Thenextthrowshallbemadefromthepreviouslie.

C. TheDirectormaydesignateadropzoneforlostdiscsonaparticularhole.Ifadropzoneisprovided,theplayermaythrowfromthereinsteadoffromthepreviouslie.Inallcasestheoriginalthrowplusonepenaltythrowshallbecountedintheplayer'sscore.

D. Ifitisdiscovered,priortothecompletionofthetournament,thataplayer'sdiscthatwasdeclaredlosthadbeenremovedortaken,thentheplayershallhavetwothrowsremovedfromthescoreforthathole.

E. Amarkerdiscthatislostshallbereplacedtomarktheapproximateliewithnopenalty.

804.06ProvisionalThrows

A. Provisionalthrowsareextrathrowsthatarenotaddedtoaplayer'sscoreiftheyarenotultimatelyusedinthecompletionofthehole.Theuseofprovisionalthrowsisencouragedinallsituationswherethereisaquestionregardingaplayer'slieandaprovisionalthrowwouldexpediteplay,orwhenthethrowerquestionsaruling.Theunusedthrowsarenottobeaddedtothethrower'sscorenortreatedaspracticethrowsaslongastheplayerannouncesthatsuchadditionalthrowsareprovisionalthrowspriortomakingthem.

B. Provisionalthrowsareappropriateinthefollowingcircumstances:

1. Tosavetime.Aplayermaydeclareaprovisionalthrowanytime:

a. Thestatusofadisccannotreadilybedetermined;and,

b. Themajorityofthegroupagreesthatplayingaprovisionalthrowmaysavetime;and,

c. Theoriginalthrowmaybeout-of-bounds,maybelost,ormayhavemissedamandatory.

Thethrowershallcompletetheholefromwhicheverofthetwothrowsisdeemedbythegrouporanofficialtohaveresultedinthecorrectlie.

2. Toappealthegroup'soranofficial'sruling.Asetofprovisionalthrowsmaybetakentocompleteaholeaspartofanappealwhentheplayerdisagreeswiththegroup

805TournamentProcedures

Forinformationregardingtournamentproceduresthatarenotcoveredbelow(suchasbeginningplay,rainorhazardousconditions,disqualificationandsuspension,groupingandsectioning,handlingofties,classificationofplayers,orofficials),seetheCompetitionManual.

805.01Appeals

A. Whenagroupcannotreachadecisionregardingaruling,thebenefitofthedoubtshallbegiventothethrower.However,anyplayermayseektherulingofanofficial,andtheofficial'srulingsupersedesthegroup'sruling.Anyplayerdesiringanappealofthegroup'sdecisionshallpromptlyandclearlyexpressthatdesiretothegroup.

B. Ifanofficialisreadilyavailable,thegroupshallstandasidetoseektheofficial'sruling,allowingothergroupstoplaythrough.

C. Ifanofficialisnotreadilyavailable,thegroupshallproceedinoneoftwoways.Thegroupmayreachadecisionwiththebenefitofthedoubtgoingtothethrower,andcontinueplay.Alternatively,ifthethrowerdoesnotwishtocontinueplayunderthegroup'sdecision,thethrowermaydeclareaprovisionalper804.06B.Theuseofprovisionalthrowsisencouragedinallsituationswherethethrowerquestionsthegroup'soranofficial'sruling.

D. Aplayermayappealanofficial'srulingtotheDirector.IftheDirectorisreadilyavailable,theappealshallbehearddirectly.Thegroupshallstandasideawaitingtherulingonappeal.Ifthe

Whereagroup'sorofficial'sdecisionisoverturnedonappeal,theofficialorDirectormay,intheinterestoffairness,allowthethrower'sscoretoremainthesame,oradjustthethrower'sscoretoreflectthecorrectinterpretationoftherules.Onlyinacasewhereareplayisthemostfairsolution,atthediscretionoftheDirector,shallaholeorholesbereplayed.

805.02Scoring

A. Theplayerlistedfirstonthescorecard(s)bearsprimaryresponsibilityforpickingupthegroup'sscorecard(s).

B. Playersinthegroupshallrotatethescorekeepingtaskproportionally,unlessaplayerorascorekeepervolunteerstokeepscoremoreandthatisacceptabletoallmembersofthegroup.

C. Aftereachholeiscompleted,thescorekeepershallcallouteachplayer'sname.Thecalledplayershallanswerwiththescoreinamannerthatiscleartoallplayersofthegroupandthescorekeeper.Thescorekeepershallrecordthatscoreandreaditback,inamannerthatiscleartoallplayersofthegroup.Ifthereisanydisagreementaboutthescoreaplayerreports,thegroupmustreviewtheholeandattempttoarriveatthecorrectscore.Ifthegroupcannotreachconsensusontheplayer'sscore,theyshallconsult805.01.

D. Thescorekeepershallrecordthescoreforeachplayeroneachholeasthetotalnumberofthrows,includingpenaltythrows.The

E. Warningsandpenaltythrowsgiventoaplayerforrulesinfractionsshallbenotedonthescorecard.

F. Attheendoftheround,eachplayershallsignthescorecardtoattesttotheaccuracyofthescoreoneachholeaswellasthetotalscore.Ifallplayersofthegroupagreethataholescorewasrecordedinerror,thescoremaybechangedpriortothescorecardbeingturnedin.Playerswhosescorecardsareturnedinunsignedacceptresponsibilityforthescoresrecorded.

G. Allplayersareresponsibleforreturningtheirscorecardswithin30minutesofthecompletionofaround.Theroundhasbeenofficiallycompletedforallcompetitorswhenthelastgrouponthecoursehascompletedtheirfinalholeandhashad,intheDirector'sopinion,reasonabletimetotravelfromtheirfinalholetotournamentheadquarters.Failuretoturninthescorecardontimeshallresultintheassessmentoftwopenaltythrows,withoutawarning,toeachplayerlistedonthelatescorecard.

H. Afterthescorecardisturnedin,thetotalscoreasrecordedshallstandwithnoappeal,exceptforthefollowingcircumstances:

1. PenaltythrowsmaybeassessedatwhatevertimetheinfractionisdiscovereduntiltheDirectordeclaresthetournamentofficiallyoverorallawardshavebeendistributed.

2. 805.03SpecialConditions

A. Rulesgoverningspecialconditionsthatmayexistonthecourseshallbeclearlydefinedanddisseminatedtoallplayerspriortothestartofthetournament.Allspecialconditionsshallbecoveredintheplayers'meeting.Eachplayerisresponsibleforadheringtoallpointscoveredintheplayer'smeeting.

B. Adropzonemaybeutilizedinspecialconditions.TheDirectormustannouncepriortothetournamenthowitistobeusedandwhetherapenaltythrowistobeassessed.

C. Norulesmaybestipulatedwhichconflictwiththeserules,unlessapprovedbytheTourManager.

1.1PlayerEligibility

A. AllmembersingoodstandingofthePDGAareeligibletocompeteinanydivisionforwhichtheyqualifybaseduponclass(ProfessionalorAmateur),age,sex,andplayerratingunlessapprovedinadvancebythePDGATourManager.PleaseseeSection2:DivisionQualificationformorespecificinformationondivisioneligibility.

B. CurrentPDGAMembershipisrequiredtocompeteinanyMajor,EliteSeries/NationalTour,orSuperTour(ATier)event.

C. DiscussionswithpersonsotherthantheTournamentDirector,includingothertournamentstaff,shallnotbeconsideredofficial.

D. Norefundswillbeissuedafterthe7thdaypriortothestartoftheevent,buttheplayershallbesentaplayerÕspackageifonewasprovidedtoeventcompetitors.

E. Withdrawalsmadebeforethe7thdaypriortothestartoftheeventshallreceivea50%refund.

1.4EventCheck-In

A. Pretournamentcheck-inisrequiredforMajor&EliteSeries/NationalToureventsandsuggestedforallothertierevents.

B. Anyplayerwhodoesnotcheck-inbythetimespecifiedbytheTournamentDirectorshallforfeittheirofficialplaceandentryfee.ExceptionswillbemadeonlyatthesolediscretionoftheTournamentDirector.

1.5PracticeRoundsandBeginningPlay

A. Aplayerisresponsibleforschedulingtheirpracticeroundspriortotheevent.Availabilityofthecourseanditstournamentset-upforpracticeroundsmayvary(seeTourStandardsfordetails).ThecourseorcoursesareclosedtopracticeduringthetournamentandallothertimesdesignatedbytheTournamentDirector.

B. Twotypesofstartswillbeusedtobegincompetitiveplay:

1. ShotgunStarts(roundswhereseveralgroupsstartsimultaneously):Atascheduledtime,scorecard(s)shallbedistributedtotheplayersatTournamentCentral.Afterthecardshavebeendistributed,groupsshallbegivenadequatetimetoreachtheirassignedteeingareas.Aloud

noisemaker,suchasanairhorn,shallbeusedtoindicatethattherearetwominutesremaininguntilteeoff.Thissignalshallbeaseriesoftwoshortblasts.Atthistime,playersaretoendpracticeandallpracticeshotsandmovepromptlytotheirteeingareas.Athrowbyaplayerbetweenthetwominutesignalandthestartoftheroundshallreceiveawarningifobservedbytwoormoreplayersoranofficial.Afterbeingwarned,subsequentthrowsbytheplayerduringthisperiod,ifobservedbytwoormoreplayersoranofficial,shallresultinonepenaltythrowaddedtotheplayer'sscore,regardlessofthenumberofthrows.Anextendedblastofthenoisemakerbeginstheroundandsignalsthescorekeeperstocallthethrowingorders.

Ifaplayerisnotpresenttothrowwhenitishisorherturn,thescorekeepershallallow30seconds.Iftheplayerhasnotthrownafterthe30secondshaselapsed,ascoreofparplusfouristobeenteredforthathole.Thisprocedurecontinuesonanysubsequentholesforwhichaplayerisabsent.Noholesshallbereplayed.Ifacompleteroundismissed,orifaplayerdoesnotfinisharound,theplayermay,atthediscretionoftheTournamentDirector,bedisqualified.

2. StaggeredStartsorTeeTimes(roundswheregroupsstartoneafteranotheronacertainhole):TheplayershallstartatthetimeannouncedbytheTournamentDirector.Playersmaypracticeuntiltheirgrouppreparestoteeoffprovidedtheirpracticedoesnotdistractplayersonthecourse.Ifaplayerisnotpresenttothrowwhenitishisorherturn,thescorekeepershallallow30seconds.Iftheplayerhasnotthrownbythen,ascoreofparplusfouristobeenteredforthathole.Thisprocedurecontinuesonanysubsequenttee

1.6GroupingandSectioning

A. ProfessionalandAmateurplayersshouldnotbegroupedtogether,andplayerscompetingindifferentdivisionsshouldbesegregatedfromeachotherduringplayasmuchaspracticable.

B. Allplayerswithinadivisionforthefirstroundshouldbegroupedviatwomethods:

1. Randomgrouping;playerswithinadivisionmayberandomlygroupedforthefirstround.

2. PlayerRatinggrouping;playerswithinadivisionmayuseplayerratingtosetfirstroundgroups.Highestratedplayerstartingonthelowestnumberhole,thesecondhighestratedplayerstartingonthefollowinghole,etc.Thisprocesswouldcontinueuntilallstartingholeshavebeenfilled.

C. Forsubsequentrounds,playersshouldbegroupedbydivision,asmuchaspracticable,thenbytotalscorefromallpreviousrounds.

D. Topromotefairness,groupsshallnotbelessthanthreeplayers,exceptunderextenuatingcircumstances,asdeemednecessarybytheTournamentDirector.Incaseswherefewerthanthreeplayers

E. Groupsshallnotbemorethanfiveplayersandshouldbelimitedtofourplayerswheneverpossible.

F. Whentherearemoreentrantsthancanplaytogetherinoneround,thefieldofcompetitorsmaybesplitintosectionsorpools.

G. Ifconditionsdifferentlyaffectplayamongsections,theTournamentDirectormayconsiderusingasectioningproceduretodetermineadvancement.Underthisprocedure,aproportionatenumberofadvancingplayerswouldbetakenfromeachsectionbyscoreandtheirscoreswouldnotbecarriedforward.

1.7SuspensionofPlay

A. If,intheopinionoftheTournamentDirector,lightning,excessiverainorhazardousconditionsexistthatmakeitimpracticalordangeroustocontinueplay,thetournamentshallbesuspended.Thesignaltosuspendplayshallbemadeinthesamefashionasthesignaltostart,butusingthreeshortblasts.Theseblastsshouldberepeatedatleastoncewithinaminutetime-frameandtheTournamentDirectorshouldmakeanynecessaryeffortstoensureallgroupscouldhearthesignal.

B. Playersshallimmediatelystopplayandmarkthelieofeachmemberofthegroup.Anaturalobjectissufficienttomarktheapproximateliefromwhichtheplayershallresumeplay.Playersshallthenreturntothefirstteeingarea,clubhouse,tournamentcentralorareadesignatedbytheTournamentDirector.

C. Playersshallresumeplayfromtheirapproximateliesasestablishedwhentheroundwashalted.Theapproximatelieisdeterminedbyamajorityofthegroup.

D. TheTournamentDirectormayallowplayerstotakeabreakwhilewaitingforweathertoimprove,butmayrequireplayerstoreturnatatimeassignedbytheTournamentDirectoruntilplayresumesoruntiltheroundispostponed.

E. Playshallberesumedusingthesamesignalstotheplayersasatthestartoftheround-atwo-minutewarningconsistingoftwoshortblasts,thenasingleextendedblasttoindicatetheroundrestartingtwominuteslater.

F. TheTournamentDirectormaypostponetheincompleteportionoftheroundforalaterdateif,intheTournamentDirector'sopinion,theconditionswillnotimproveorifdarknesswillfallpriortotheprojectedfinishtime.

G. Partialroundscoresshallbecarriedforwardtothecompletionoftheroundwhenevertheroundisresumed.

H. Aplayerwhostopsplayingbeforeasignaltostophasbeengivenshallreceivetwopenaltythrowsif,intheopinionoftheTournamentDirector,theplayerstoppedplayingprematurely.

I. TheTournamentDirectorwillmakeeveryefforttocompleteallroundsofthetournamentasscheduled.

1. Ifatotalof54holesorfewerholesarescheduled.Allplayersmustcompleteaminimumof18holesfortheeventtobeconsideredofficial.

2. Ifatotalof72holesarescheduled.Allplayersmustcompleteaminimumof36holesfortheeventtobeconsideredofficial.

3. Ifthesecriteriaarenotmet,alleffortswillbemadetorescheduletheevent.Ifreschedulingisimpossible,afullrefundwillbeissuedminusplayer’spackage,PDGA,andotherassociatedeventfees.

J. Baseduponcourseavailability,andiflessthanonehalfofthefieldneedstocompletearoundnecessarytodeclaretheeventofficial,thetournamentmaybecompletedthedayafterthefinalroundwasscheduled.Allsuspendedroundsshallbecompleted,unlessconditionsexistthatmakeitimpossible.Ifsuchconditionsexist,theresultsshallbefinalasofthelastcompletedroundaslongasthenecessaryholerequirementsaremet.

K. Thecompletionofasuspendedroundisahigherprioritythanafutureroundandthusfutureroundsshallbecanceledinordertocompleteasuspendedround.

1.8ReductionofFieldSize

A. Thefieldmaybecutforasemi-finalsorfinalsatthediscretionoftheTournamentDirector,providedthisisannouncedwellinadvanceoftheevent.

B. UnlessannouncedinadvancebytheTournamentDirectoralltiesforasemi-finalorfinalcutwillbebrokenbytheuseofatiebreaker.(SeeSection1.9)

C. Makingthecutlineatorabovethepayoutlineishighlyrecommendedsothatallplayerswhomakethecutgetpaid.

1.9TieBreakers

A. Betweenroundswhenthegroupsarebeingreset,tiedpositionsshallbebroken.Theplayerwiththelowestscoreinthemostrecentroundshallhavethehighestrankingwhenthescorecards/positionsarereset.Intheeventoftiesforlowestscoreacrossallpreviousrounds,thetiesshallbebrokenbytheTournamentDirectorthroughaconsistentlyappliedmannersuchaslowestPDGAnumberoralphabeticalbylastname.

B. Finaltiesforfirstplaceinanydivisionorforthereductionoffieldsizemustbebrokenbysuddendeathplay.SuddendeathplayshallbeginwithholenumberoneunlessadifferentholeorseriesofholesisdesignatedbytheTournamentDirectorpriortothestartofthetournament.

C. Firstplacecash/prizemustbeawardedtothedivisionwinnerandlistedintheeventresults.Cashorprizesmaynotbeevenlysplitbetweenanyplayerstiedforfirstplace.

D. Finaltiesforotherranksshallbeofficiallyrecordedasties.Prizemoneydistributiontotiedplayers(otherthanforfirstplace)shallbedeterminedbyaddingthetotalmoneyallocatedtothenumberofpositionsrepresentedbythetiedplayersanddividingthatbythenumberofplayerstied.TrophydistributionfortiesmaybedeterminedbysuddendeathplayorbyanyrelateddiscgolfskilleventdeterminedbytheTournamentDirector,butonlyforthepurposeofawardingtrophies,theplayersmustremainofficiallyrecordedastiedintheresults.

C. EachofficialmustpassthePDGAOfficialsExam,andmustcarryacopyoftherules.

D. Non-playingcertifiedofficialsappointedbytheTournamentDirectormayactivelymakerulingsduringanytournamentplaythattheywitness.Ifanappointedofficialcompetesinthetournament,heorshemaynotofficiateforanyrulingwithinhisorherowndivision.Theofficial'srulingsupersedestherulingofthegroup,butanappealmaybemadetotheTournamentDirector.TheTournamentDirectormayempowernon-certifiedofficialstoactasspottersforaspecificspottingpurpose.Therulingofsuchaspottersupersedestherulingofthegroup.

Section2:DivisionQualifications

2.1General

A. Playersarenotallowedtoenteradivisionforwhichtheyareineligible.PleaseseetheonlineDivisions,Ratings,andPointFactorstableforspecifics.

B. Aplayerissolelyresponsibleforknowingwhatdivision(s)theyareeligibletocompetein.Entryintoanineligibledivisionmayresultindisqualificationfromtheeventand/orsuspensionfromPDGAevents.

C. PlayersareallowedtocompeteinonlyonedivisionpereventunlesstheeventhasdivisionscompetingonadifferentdayorweekendandislistedastwodistinctentriesinthePDGAcalendar.

D. AplayermustproperlyidentifythemselveswhencompetinginaPDGAsanctionedevent.PlayerswhowishtoremainanonymousorwhoassumeafalseidentitywillbedisqualifiedfromtheeventandfacepotentialsuspensionfromthePDGAtour.

E. ProfessionalplayersenteringintoaProfessionaldivisioncompeteformoneyandAmateurplayersenteringintoaProfessionaldivisionmayacceptmerchandiseinlieuofcash.

F. PlayersenteringintoanAmateurdivisioncompetefortrophiesand/orprizes.

G. Femaleplayersmaycompeteinmaledivisionsiftheywish,butmaleplayersmaynotcompeteinfemaledivisions.

J. ATournamentDirectormay,bygivingadequatepublicnotice,restrictthedivisionsoffered.Absentsuchnotice,theTournamentDirectorshallofferforcompetitionanydivisionwhichhasfourormoreplayersthatareeligibleandwishingtocompete.TournamentDirectorsmayofferdivisionswithlessthanfourplayersattheirdiscretion.

K. All"Bump"rulesareinvalidandnotallowedatPDGAsanctionedevents.Playersshallbeallowedtoplayinanydivisionstheymightbeeligiblefor,ifthosedivisionsareofferedbytheTournamentDirector.

2.2Exceptions

A. Playersareallowedtoenteraratingsbaseddivisiontheywouldotherwisebeineligibletoparticipateonlyunderthefollowingcircumstances

1. IfapprovedbeforetheeventbythePDGATourManager.

2. Playerswhohavebecomeineligibleforadivisionduetoaratingsupdatemayparticipatefortwoweeksfollowingtheupdate,providedtheyarepre-registeredfortheeventinquestion,atthediscretionoftheTournamentDirector.

B. AmateurtoProfessional

1. AnAmateurwishingtochangetheirclassificationtoProfessionalmaydosobycontactingthePDGAoffice.

2. AnAmateurplayerisautomaticallyre-classifiedasProfessionalwhentheplayerhasacceptedcashwhile

2.4ProsPlayingAm

A. ProfessionalsmaycompeteinAmateurdivisionsofferedatPDGAA,B,andCTierevents,forwhichtheyqualifybasedonplayerrating,age,andsexasdetailedinthePROSPLAYINGAMsectionoftheonlineDivisions,Ratings,PointsFactorstable.

B. PlayersareawardedAmateurpointsfortheirperformancebutthesepointsarenoteligibleforyear-endawardsorWorldsinvitations.

2.5TrophyOnly

A. AttheoptionoftheTournamentDirector,AmateurplayersareallowedtoplayinProfessionaldivisionsforwhichtheyareeligibleaccordingtoageandsexatareducedentryfee.

B. AttheoptionoftheTournamentDirector,ProfessionalorAmateurplayersmaycompetefortrophiesonlyinanyAmateurdivisionofferedbyaneventthattheirplayerrating,ageandsexqualifiesthemfor,bypayingareducedentryfee.

C. Playerscompetingunder"TrophyOnly"arenotallowedtoacceptcashorprizesbaseduponfinishbutareallowedtoaccepttrophies.

Section3:PlayerCodeofConduct

3.1General

A. AllPDGAmembersshouldrefrainfromanyconductwhichisdetrimentaltothegameofdiscgolfandtothePDGA,bothonandoffofthecourse.

B. AllplayersmustabidebythePDGAOfficialRulesofDiscGolfandthePDGACompetitionManual.

C. Playersarenotpermittedtohaveaudiblemobilephonesoraudiblepagersonthecourseduringanycompetitiveround.Inaddition,personalmusicplayersandotherdevicesmustbeusedexclusivelywithpersonalheadphonesandthevolumemustbekeptatalevelsoasnottobeheardbyotherplayers,preventtheplayerfromeffectivelyinteractingwithhisgroupduringscorekeepingtasks,orprovideasafetyhazardfortheplayerbynothearing"Fore!"callsfromotherplayersorwarningblastsbytheTournamentDirector.

D. Animals,withtheexceptionofaccreditedserviceanimals,maynotaccompanyplayersduringcompetition.

E. AllplayerswillberequiredtotakeandpassanonlinetournamentrulesassessmenttestbeforebeingabletocompeteinanyEliteSeries/NationalTourorMajorPDGAsanctionedevent.ThistestwillbebaseduponthePDGAOfficialRulesofDiscGolfandthePDGACompetitionManual.

F. ThePDGAreservestherighttodetermineandenforcefurtherdisciplinaryactionuponitsplayersandmembers,whichmay

3.2PaceofPlay

A. Allcompetitorsshallplaywithoutunduedelayandwillmakeeveryefforttokeepupwiththegroupinfrontofthem.Playersarerequiredtoquicklymovefromthecompletionofoneholetotheteeareaofthenexthole.Also,whileadvancingdownthefairway,theplayershallnotundulydelayplaybyhisorheractions.

B. Aplayercausingunduedelaysmaybeissuedanexcessivetimeviolationbytournamentofficials.PleaseseePDGARulesofPlay804.01ExcessiveTimeregardingspecificpenalties.

3.3PlayerMisconduct

A. ThePDGAadoptsastrictpolicyofappropriatebehaviorandcommentstothemedia.AnyconductdeemedtobeunprofessionalissubjecttodisqualificationbytheTournamentDirector,andmayalsobesubjecttofurtherdisciplinaryactionsfromthePDGA.

B. PlayersareexpectedtobehaveinaprofessionalandsportsmanlikemannerwhileparticipatinginaPDGAsanctionedevent.Actionsthatareinviolationofthisconductincludebutarenotlimitedto:

1. Repeatedandovertuseofabusiveorprofanelanguage

2. Throwingitemsinanger(otherthandiscsinplay)

3. Overtrudenesstoanyonepresent

7. ActivitieswhichareinviolationofFederal,StateorLocallawsorordinances,parkregulationordiscgolfcourserule.Directorsaregrantedthediscretiontodisqualifyaplayerbasedontheseverityoftheoffendingconduct.Anofficialwarningofdisqualificationmaybeissuedbyadirectorwhereappropriate.

8. ThepossessionofillegalsubstancesinviolationofFederal,StateorLocallaws.

9. Excessiveuseofalcoholatthetournamentsite.

10. PossessionofalcoholfromthestartofplayuntiltheplayerÕsscorecardissubmitted.SuchpossessionshallresultinimmediatedisqualificationatPDGAeventssanctionedatB-Tierorhigher.TheTournamentDirectormay,athissolediscretion,electtoissueawarningtotheoffendingplayerinlieuofdisqualificationsolelyatPDGAeventssanctionedatC-tierandbelow.Ifaplayerhasbeenpreviouslyissuedawarningforalcoholpossessionatthesameevent,allsubsequentviolationsshallresultinimmediatedisqualification.

11. Overtfailureorrefusaltoenforcetherulesofdiscgolf

duringcompetition.

12. Failureorrefusaltocooperatewith,orobstructionofanyinvestigationbyanofficialintothecompetitorÕsconductortheconductofanothercompetitors.

13. Deliberatelyseekingtomanipulateonesplayerratingthroughintentionalmisplayorwithdrawal.

C. TournamentDirectorsarerequiredtoreportanydisqualificationstothePDGAasquicklyaspossible.

D. Disqualifiedplayersshallforfeitanyprizemoneyormerchandiseandshallnotreceivearefundofentryfees.

E. PlayerswhocommitPlayerMisconductmayalsobesubjecttodisciplinaryactions.TofindoutmoreinformationabouttheDisciplinaryProcesspleasevisitwww.pdga.com/discipline.

3.4DressCode

A. AllviolationsoftheDressCodePolicyshallbeconsideredaCourtesyViolationunderSection801.04ofthePDGAOfficialRulesofPlay.

B. Allcompetitorsandstaffarerequiredtowearashirt.

C. Allcompetitorsandstaffarerequiredtowearshoesorotherfootcoverings.Playerswillnotbeallowedtoplayinbarefeet.Sandalsorslidesareallowed.

D. ThefollowingdresscodeforallcompetitorswillbeenforcedatallPDGAEliteSeries/NationalTourandMajorEvents.The

1. AllplayersinPDGAsanctionedcompetitionandtournamentstaffareexpectedtodressappropriatelyandtomaintainacleanandwell-groomedappearanceatalleventsitesandassociatedfunctions.

2. Allplayersmustwearashirtcoveringtheirupperchestarea.Awell-tailoredshirtwithacollarandsleevescoveringtheupperarmshallbeconsideredacceptable.Tanktopsarenotallowedforanycompetitor,butwomenmaywearsleevelessshirtswithcollars.

a. Womenmayalsowearwell-tailoredone-piecetennisdresseswithminimum1inchwideshoulderstraps.(added12/17/2013)

3. Noteeshirtswillbeallowed,exceptforcompetitorsintheJuniorandAmateurdivisionsduringpreliminaryroundsonly.JuniorsandAmateursshallnotwearteeshirtsduringsemifinalorfinalrounds.Crewneckorv-neckshirtsmadeofhigh-performanceorhigh-techmaterials,suchasDry-Fit,Cool-Max,andotherswillbeallowed.

4. Shirtsthathangdownlowerthanthebottomhemlineontheplayer'sshortsshallbetuckedin.

5. Norippedshirts,shorts,orpantswillbeallowedonthecourse.Thisincludesunhemmed,tornorcut"vents"attheshirtcollar.

6. Nooffensive,profane,orobsceneslogansorlogosshallbeallowedonanyclothing.Juniorplayersmaynotwearslogansorlogosreferringtoalcohol,tobacco,ordrugs.

7. Thisdresscodewillbeineffectfromstarttofinishateachevent,includingalltournamentrounds.

8. Playerswhodonotmakeacut,butwishtoremainonsitethroughthedurationofthetournament,willbeconsideredspectatorsandwillnotberequiredtoconformtotheTour'sdresscode.

3.5CartsandCaddies

A. PlayersarerequiredtowalkduringtheirtournamentroundsatallPDGAeventsunlessalternatetransportationsuchasgolfcartsareprovidedtoallcompetitors.

B. Playerswillhavetheoptiontobringacaddieorcarryingdeviceduringtheirroundofplay.Aplayer'scaddieissubjecttoallitemswithinthePDGARulesofPlayandthePDGACompetitionManualincludingallapplicabledresscodes.

C. Playerschoosingtouseacaddiewillbesolelyresponsiblefortheircaddie'sconductfromthetwominutewarninguntiltheplayerscardsareturnedin.Misconductbyacaddiemaysubjectboththeplayerandcaddietodisqualificationand/orsuspension.

D. Playersmustinstructtheircaddiestomaintainareasonabledistanceandnotinterferewithacompetitorattemptinghisorhershot.

E. Forthoseplayerswishingtouseacarryingdevice,approved

3.6TourPlayerMediaandSponsorRelations

A. AllparticipantsagreethatthePDGAanditsagentsmaypublishphotographsandotherkindsofimagesoftheirparticipationatPDGAsanctionedevents.

B. AllplayersatPDGAEliteSeries/NationalTourandMajoreventsarerequestedtobeavailabletoanyandallmediawhileonsiteexceptduringorwithin30minutesofthestartofacompetitiveround.

3.7TourVendorPolicies

A. TheTournamentDirectormayrefusetoallowanyvendoraccesstothetournamentvenueanditsenvironsattheirdiscretion.

B. Ifapplicable,sponsors/vendorsareresponsibleforobtainingtherequiredpermitsfromtheappropriateagencies/jurisdictionsandmustmakepermitsavailabletotheTournamentDirectoruponrequest.

C. FailuretocomplywiththispolicybyavendormayresultinfurtherdisciplinaryactionsbythePDGA.

3.8TournamentDirectorRightsandResponsibilities

ThePDGArecognizesthatthestrengthoftheorganizationandsustainabilityoftournamentdiscgolfisreliantonthepartnership

betweenthePDGAandtheTournamentDirector.InordertohelptheTournamentDirectortobetterperformtheirjob,thePDGAhasendowedthemwithcertainrights.TheTournamentDirectoralsohasresponsibilitiestothePDGAanditsplayers,includingbutnotlimitedtothefollowing:

A. AnyqualifiedPDGAmemberinterestedinrunningaPDGAsanctionedeventmayberequiredtotakeandpassanonlinetournamentproceduresassessmenttestbeforebeingabletodirectthatevent.ThistestwillbebaseduponthePDGARulesofPlayandCompetitionManual.

B. AllTournamentDirectorsmayberequiredtosignastatementacknowledgingthattheyhavereadthePDGARulesofPlayandCompetitionManual,andagreetoabidebyandenforceitscontentsbeforebeingabletodirectanyPDGAsanctionedevent.

C. TournamentDirectorsmustdisclosethefinancialinformationontheirtournamentsaslistedinthePDGASanctioningAgreement.However,beyondthePDGArequireddisclosures,anyadditionalreleaseoftournamentrelatedfinancialinformationissolelyatthediscretionoftheTournamentDirector.

D. TournamentDirectorsmaynotrefuseservicetoanyoneonthebasisofdiscriminationreflectingrace,creed,nationalorigin,gender,sexualorientationandorreligion.

E. TournamentDirectorsmustabidebyactivePDGAplayerdisciplinaryactions.

F. Anyissuesthatmayariseduringatournament,whetherornotcoveredinanyexistingPDGAdocument,includingallegationsofabuseofresponsibilitiesbyaTournamentDirector,maybe
