Officina Meccanica Panzeri Alessandro The company has been founded in the 80's by Alessandro Panzeri, chief mechanic in a company

leader in the paper converting industry.

Having detected recurrent problems due to the slippage of the coil and the consequent rupture

of the cardboard core, he designs, manufactures and patents the first expanding core chucks.

The technical solution reveals to be a smart product, and it easily finds a strong confirmation in

the market. Nowadays, it is still known to be the optimal core holding system.

From a small workshop dedicated to the construction of this single product, the company grew

over the years and developed its technical capacity in processing different types of mechanical

parts extending its machine fleet and acquiring the ability to cover all requirements for turning,

milling, drilling and tapping for various applications on behalf of a third party.

Now, his son Marco manages the company with the same passion of his father, investing in

innovation and enlarging the capacity of processing up pieces of large diameter.

EXPANDING CHUCKS

Officina Meccanica Panzeri Alessandro manufactures expanding core chucks for the corrugated

and paper converting industry. Our core chucks prevents slippage of the film and the

consequent damage to the cardboard cores. The fastening flanges are tailored to your type of

system, allowing the replacement of old cones, which cause the well-known problems of

securing the reel.

All models can be customized on your design or special instructions for the particular needs of

your plant.

Lug core chucks are known to be the best solution for clamping

reels' core for the corrugated and paper converting industries.

A system of lugs, which expansion is obtained by an axial

compression of the chuck itself once it has been put in the reel's

core, guarantees the high grip of the chuck.

As far as now, the Company manufactures single-diameter

core chucks of 3",4",5",6" and 12" diameters.

The double-diameter model is available with 3"/4" and

3"/6" ("standard" version) diameters, but other combinations

are available.

Single-diameter lug core chucks models are eventually

available with the central bore for the photocell and/or with a

flange for the ejection of the core.

Our axial thrust “SAFE-CHUCK” (code “ASC”) is the top

of our core chucks production range: it is an exclusive

product of Officina Meccanica Panzeri Alessandro,

and it is the most safe, easy and durable chuck.

The innovation is in the blocking system: the lugs can

expand only when the core has exerted enough force

on the disc to let it slip and to actuate the internal

mechanism. If the chuck is not perfectly centered and

the core pushes on the socket, the lugs will not expand,

allowing to reach the optimal centering and the

perfect expansion of the lugs.

Thanks to this particular feature, the operator is safeguarded in every moment of the

production, and the locking of the core is always perfect.

SAFE-CHUCKS

Applications: shaftless unwind

Torque-activated expanding core chucks are

equipped with segmented sectors ("leaves") that expand

using the torque of the movement of the reel; this aspect

permits an optimal centering of the chuck in the core.

Thanks to their peculiar characteristics, these chucks guarantee the greatest control of the reel and a very li-

mited damage to the cardboard cores.

Torque-activated core chucks are available in

n u m e rou s d i am e te r s , s i n g l e -d i am e te r o r

double-diameter versions.

Their simple installation and maintenance and their

competitive price allows to replace with a limited

investment all the previously owned core chucks.

In addition to this, our products are very tough and they

can easily stand the test of time, guaranteeing

substantial savings to their users.

Single-diameter version is available with the flange for

the ejection of the core of the spring and flange for the

ejection of the core.

Our pneumo-mechanical chucks join powerful

performance, lightness and endurance.

Our chucks are available in two series:

“heavy” series

“light” series

Due to their high versatility, they can be used in

different fields: paper converting, corrugated

cardboard, non-woven, medical and labelling, on

machines like slitter rewinders,unwinders and any shaftless machine.

The dimensions of the chucks are taken to the minimum, thus to guarantee high versatility

during the production phase.

Both series can be accompanied with adapters to extend the range of core diameters that

can be used with.

ADAPTERS for “Heavy” and “Light” series PNEUMO-MECHANICAL

Our pneumomechanical chucks can be equipped with adapters

to cover most diameters of the cores. Built in aluminum alloys,

they provide lightness, versatility and endurance in every

application. The assembly of the adapters on the chucks is very

simple and user-friendly.
