Bauer Media Group would probably be the best media institution best suited to my magazine because the other magazines they produce represent similar genres and ideologies (except they aim some of their magazines more towards men, unlike mine). Their magazines like Q, Mojo and Kerrang are very popular so could easily promote my magazine and get it more attention. Also they mainly represent rock and alternative music so would attract similar audiences.

Bauer Media Group is based in Europe, with headquarters in Germany. They manage over 600 magazines and 400 digital products with 50 radio and Tv stations worldwide. They have a international circulation of magazines of 38 million a week making £2.129 billion.

Kerrang started out as a rock magazine in 2004 and has evolved into a whole brand of radio and Tv stations. The main audience is 15-24 year olds with 54.7% of them being male. Which is fairly similar to my main target audience.

Q magazine is a rock and roll magazine which mainly focuses on modern and contemporary artists, with a slightly older audience and predominantly men.

Because Bauer has such a big influence in the ‘rock’ music industry, not only magazines but radio and TV stations so they could get a lot of coverage for my magazine and promote to the large audience and following they have. Also with the use of their Facebook, Twitter or other social media platforms they could advertise the audience and intended readers of the new content available to them.
