The Board of Directors of Northwest Tennessee Eco-nomic Development Council is actively seeking a quali-fied individual for the position of Program Director forthe Head Start/Early Head Start Program. The HeadStart/Early Head Start Program operates in the thirteencounty service areas of Benton, Carroll, Crockett,Dyer, Fayette, Gibson, Henry, Lake, Lauderdale,Obion, Madison, Tipton and Weakley counties. Thecentral administrative office is located in McKenzie,Tennessee, Carroll County. The individual in this posi-tion reports directly to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited tothe following areas:• Provide administrative oversight of the HeadStart/Early Head Start Program, including early child-hood development and health services, family andcommunity partnerships and program design and man-agement• Supervise, motivate and train other Head Start/EarlyHead Start staff• Fiscal responsibility with program budget, reviewingfinancial statements, monitoring fundingresources to support program services and ensure in-tegrity• Prepare Head Start/Early Head Start Program grants• Maintain systems to ensure performance accountabil-ity throughout the entire program;• Serve as an advocate for the Head Start/Early HeadStart program, promoting good public relations by serv-ing on boards, committees and participating in commu-nity activities and encouraging community partner-ships.Minimum Qualifications:• Master s degree from an accredited four-year collegeor university with major courses in early childhood edu-cation, Public Administration, Social Sciences or re-lated field;• Five years experience in Child Development Manage-ment• Knowledge in principles of management, administra-tion, human development and the learning process;previous senior level leadership, fiscal management,and supervisory experience are required;• Knowledge in functions of social service agencies isrequired• Knowledge of state requirements and guidelines ofHead Start regulations (preferred);• Experience in working with a diverse team is a must;experience working with Board of Directors and policycouncils (preferred)• Effective interpersonal, communication, organiza-tional and computer skills

Salary Range: $72,000 to $76,000(based on credentials/experience)
