D itch Witch of Ohio, Western Pa. & Western N.Y., recently held open house events at its facilities in Columbus, Ohio and Cranberry Township, Pa., to introduce equipment. The all-day new equipment rodeo featured a wide range of new equipment includ- ing new directional drills and TK trackers, new mini- skid steers, trenchers, vacuum excavators and locators. At the Columbus event, Roger Lipscomb, president and executive director of Ohio Utilities Protection Service conducted a session on House Bill 458, a new law designed to improve Ohio’s current damage pre- vention regulations through enhanced communications and cooperation among stakeholders. As well as an opportunity to watch Ditch Witch’s new lineup of equipment in action, attendees were treat- ed to lunch and door prizes. Matt Di Iorio, who served as the dealership’s general manager for the past five years, recently took ownership of the dealership. Prior dealer management and owner- ship experiences will serve him well in this new ven- ture. Di Iorio also served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Associated Equipment Distributors. Ditch Witch has been extraordinary to work with and he’s proud and excited to represent the line, he said. Ditch Witch imposes stringent demands on its dealer- ships to ensure high standards in sales and service are maintained, adding that this approach fit well with his own personal business philosophy, according to Di Iorio. The dealership has grown by substantially in recent years and has been honored with the Ditch Witch President’s Award of Achievement, Parts & Service Award of Achievement and Crescent Club. Three years ago, Di Iorio oversaw the move from its previous loca- tion in Columbus to its new facility which backs up to Interstate 70. While much more accessible to its clients, the intent was to provide the dealership better positioning to get to its customers. The Cranberry Township, PA branch is located near Interstate 79 and Interstate 76 for the same reason, said Di Iorio.
