year : integration and celebration
At Ohio Dominican University, we will help you navigate successfully through college and prepare for life. During your
next four years, you will work harder and achieve more than you ever
thought possible. And we’ll support you every step of the way.
We offer a wealth of resources to assist you with your academic,
professional and personal pursuits.
As you move forward in your college journey, consider how your
student activities and internships, as well as your relationships with
advisors and career counselors, simultaneously influence the many
ways you are developing as a college student. Knowledge gained in one
facet of your experience is likely to lead you to deeper understandings
or questions in other areas of your development.
Your ODU experience is your chance to discover new talents and
abilities; to take risks and try new things.
Welcome, New Panthers!
Here, you can connect your passion with a purpose.
And along the way, you’ll develop lasting connections with
the professors who mentor you,
the staff who encourage you and
the classmates whose friendships will last a lifetime.

Get Involved
Involvement is a key component to your college success. Co-curricular experiences provide opportunities for you to apply and practice what you’re learning in class, as well as develop and refine skills that will prepare you for your future career endeavors. We’ve highlighted six co-curricular areas that are of particular importance. The more areas you try, the more value you’ll find in your college experience.
Culture: As you engage in activities that help you to stretch your understanding of our diverse world, so too will you grow in your ability to learn, serve and connect with others.
How will I expand my appreciation of diversity at ODU?
Examples: Attend an information session on Global Learning Programs; participate in study abroad or service abroad; join the World Student Club.
Faith Development: ODU welcomes all students and is diligent in providing opportunities for each individual to grow in their faith. Involvement possibilities exist both on and off campus.
How might I enhance my faith life while at ODU?
Examples: Campus Ministry Leadership Team, Bible Study, Discussion groups: interfaith dialogue/justice issues
Leadership: Ohio Dominican views leadership as a process – not simply a position – and provides intentional, inclusive leadership opportunities that foster self-awareness and promote holistic personal development.
What leadership opportunities might I explore?
Examples: Emerging Leaders, Peer Advisors, Resident Assistants
Service: ODU offers occasions for students to engage and experience community service on many levels. Students are encouraged to suggest service activities they wish to experience.
How did I serve in high school? How might I be called to serve at ODU?
Examples: Make a Difference Day, Mid-Ohio Food Bank, Mohun Health Care Center
