Volunteer Applications & Training Volunteers are the life blood of the Logan County 4-H Program. They are the ones who are working one on one with youth. We want to make sure our volunteers are prepared, trained, and feel equipped to engage with our youth. Below are times for annual training for different volunteers and information about being a new volunteer! *All volunteers must attend a training each year. You do not need to register for any training this year.

Looking to be a New Volunteer? Logan County 4-H is always looking for more adult volunteers. Volunteers can have different roles with the 4-H Program and have very different time commitments, responsibilities, and focuses. Here are some volunteer roles that Logan County 4-H is looking for:

• Club Advisors – some of our current clubs could use more volunteer assistance and Justin is always wanting to talk to someone interested in starting a new 4-H Club.

• Project Volunteers – volunteers who are not necessarily tied to a 4-H Club but throughout the year teach and work with youth on specific project areas in things such as clinics, workshops, and visiting 4-H Clubs to assist.

• In-school/ After-school Volunteers – volunteers willing to assist Justin in creating, implementing, and evaluating in school programs and after school programs. Just volunteer during the school year. May help with afterschool clubs, or in-school programs such as Real Money Real World, Breads of Harvest, STEM challenges, and more.

County Junior Leadership Club Are you a Logan County 4-H’er in High School? Logan County is looking to start a Junior Leadership Club in which 4-H Teens are providing leadership to many Logan County 4-H events, activities, and judgings. This county–wide 4-H Club will focus on different aspects of Citizenship and Leadership.

Along with leading 4-H programs, youth will learn what it means to be an active citizen and a leader. The Junior Leadership Club will focus on a different theme each year and dig deep into topics chosen by the members that impact Logan County (topics may be Diversity, Culture, Workforce Preparation, Politics, Education, Court Systems and more). Each year teens will learn about a Leadership or Citizenship theme from local Logan County citizens and organizations. Youth will then take a Leadership/Citizenship 4-H Project that they will complete and be evaluated on. If you are interested in receiving more information about a Logan County Junior Leadership Club for 2020 please fill out the survey at go.osu.edu/LoCoLeadershipClub. 4-H Camp for Christmas Looking for a great Christmas present or stocking stuffer? Why not give the gift of 4-H Camp to a Logan County youth! Logan County 4-H Camp is July 22nd – 26th, 2020. You can purchase a gift certificate in any amount at the Logan County Extension Office. 4-H’ers going to camp can remit the certificate with their 4-H camp registration. Campers who have completed grades 3rd – 8th will challenge themselves on a high ropes course, braid a friendship bracelet, swim in the pool, learn a line dance and become lifelong friends with their cabin mates. Registration for campers will open up in the Spring. The Gift Certificates are not redeemable. Also, youth do not need to be in 4-H to attend 4-H Camp. We often will use 4-H Camp as an introduction to 4-H. What a better gift to give youth than an experience like camp!
