4-H Recognition Banquet was held Sunday, December 2, 12:30
p.m., with 117 4-H members, parents, volunteers and special guests in
attendance!
Honor clubs, community clubs, outstanding 4-H’ers, Friend of 4-H,
Honor member awards and Volunteer Honor awards were announced.
Santa and Mrs. Claus surprised the children. Candy canes were handed out and toy lists were discussed!
A very special “Thank You!” to Judy Gallimore for organizing decorations, making door prizes (pictured) and
securing an excellent caterer! The food was delicious!

Sweet did a great job decorating the room with festive table cloths and holiday decorations.

Annual 4-H Volunteer Training is scheduled for Monday, December 17, 6:00 p.m., Della Selsor
This year, we are excited to announce that Dr. Kirk Bloir will be providing the training for the 1.50 policy required every year. Kirk began his career with Ohio State in 1996 as an extension agent in Madi-son County and has since served in several other roles within Extension, including program director in the Department of Human Development and Family Science as well as in Family and Consumer Sciences Administra-tion. He has served the last four years as the Associate State 4-H Leader, providing leadership in the areas of risk and program management, coaching professionals through volunteer and member behavior management issues, crisis communications, conflict resolution, and corrective action.
On October 1st, Dr. Kirk Bloir stepped into the role of Interim State Leader, 4-H Youth Development for OSU Extension in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. Kirk received his bachelor’s degree in adolescent development, master’s degree in human development and family science, and doctoral degree in extension education from The Ohio State University. Extension office staff will be providing “101 Volunteer” information and updates. Melinda Morrison, area leader/ Champaign County 4-H Extension Educator will also be on hand to give state updates. R.S.V. P. will be required as pizza and drinks will be provided .
4-H Discovery night— January 30th - Della Selsor Building
Currently in 4-H? Thinking about taking a different project this year? Come discover all the options you
have. Madison County Key Leaders will be on hand to answer questions you may have about… small
animals, livestock, horses, family consumer science, STEM projects, and special interest projects such as:
leadership, welding, Vet. Science… just to name a few.
Matt Teders, Madison County Game Warden, will also be on site with his portable Archery range and really
cool animal furs to touch and identify.
Come see all the opportunities 4-H as to offer you!
Pass the word to your friends and families… The evening is also geared towards youth interested in joining
4-H.
There will be a scavenger hunt. Popcorn and drinks.

Ohio Volunteer Conference - Saturday, March 9, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
Greater Columbus Convention Center
Conference Registration booklet (workshops) and registration form is online. Form is due to the Extension
office by February 5th. Our office will register you.
The 2019 Ohio 4-H Conference is designed to bring together 4-H volunteers and teens (age 13 and older) from across the State of Ohio. The objective of this event is to learn together and from each other in order to improve our abilities to deliver the Ohio 4-H Program to its members. We truly believe that these educational selections offer something for everyone, and have the ability to satisfy every taste and need.
The Madison County 4-H Endowment sponsors eight, adult volunteer and four youth registrations, first-come, first serve.
