Prof. Dr. Amr Galal El Adawi became President of Beirut Arab University in August 2006. He is professor of architecture at the University of Alexandria where he served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (2005-2006). Prof. El-Adawi is a consultant for the architectural design unit at the office of the Minister of Culture and for Mubarak City for Scientific Research and Technological Applications. He is also member of the supreme committee for the promotion of academic staff in Egyptian universities and of the High Supreme Court for Values in Egypt. Prof. El-Adawi joined the teaching staff at the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University immediately upon graduation from the Faculty in 1974. He received his M.Sc. in architecture from Alexandria University in 1980 and his PhD in Urban Design from Liverpool University (England) in 1986. He then rose through the academic ranks to full professorship in 1997. Mr. Youssef Arbid is a petroleum engineering student at BAU since 2014 where he is an active SPE BAU member. He participated in the SPE ADIPEC 2016 University Program where his group won the fourth place while being the first Lebanese students to participate in a petroleum contest. Alongside his studies, he has worked in different domains like sales and tutoring. He made his first internship at the ACC in Abou Dhabi concerning handling mechanical and piping related materials. Youssef is currently the president of SPE BAU Student Chapter and he is always looking forward to enhancing his skills while waiting for his graduation to begin his professional career. Prof. Dr. Adel Ahmed El Kordi is currently the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Beirut Arab University and a Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. He received his BS and MS degrees from Alexandria University in 1977 and 1983 respectively. In 1988, he completed his PhD in Civil Engineering at Alexandria University and Imperial College University of London. His academic career began in 1977 as a Research Student/Assistant/Fellow, in the Structural Engineering Department at Alexandria University. He then took a permanent position as an Associate Professor / Professor in Civil Engineering at Alexandria University in 1993 and 1998 respectively. In 2005 he became the Executive Manager of the Engineering Center in Alexandria University and in 2006 he was the Vice Dean of Engineering for Development and Environment Affairs and in 2009 he became the Dean of Engineering, Alexandria University. Between 2009 and 2011 he was the Engineering Consultant of the President, the Chairman of the Board of Engineering Center, the Scientific Computing unit and the Production Engineering Unit of Alexandria University. Professor Elkordi published widely and contributed to the development of the Egyptian Standard and the Egyptian code in the field of construction materials. Areas of research specialism include novel Construction materials, Quality control and inspection of building and evaluation of concrete strength, Renovation and rehabilitation of concrete structures. Mr. Jean Riachi is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of FFA Private Bank a specialized bank headquartered in Beirut and Dubai (DIFC) and a leading financial institution in the fields of Private Banking and Investment Banking (“Best Private Bank in the Middle-East 2017”, CFI awards).Jean Riachi holds an MSc in Management from HEC Paris and a certificate in corporate governance from INSEAD. Between 1985 and 1994, he held several managerial positions in multinational banks and companies.He is a board member in several organizations including the Amcham and Human Rights Watch and chairs the Capital Markets Committee in the Association of Banks in Lebanon.

Dr. Nasser Hoteit has been involved in the Energy Sector (Nuclear, Oil and Gas) for over 30 years. He started his career as researcher and engineer in the Petroleum and Mining Sector at major European petroleum companies. He later joined the nuclear industry as Geoscientist and Head of Geosciences Directorate. His activities revolved around R&D that contributed to driving forward the knowledge of Conventional and Unconventional Hydrocarbons Resources.In Parallel, Dr. Hoteit was board member of the European Nuclear public agency and senior expert at the European Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). After Nuclear, he joined back the petroleum industry to become Expert and Technical Authority for Onshore and O�shore Gas fields development in Arctic regions.On the other hand, Dr. Hoteit initiated several patents and authored numerous scientific publications. During his industrial career, Dr. Hoteit also acted as Professor at Paris, Stockholm and Saint Petersburg Mining Schools, and at Paris and Grenoble Polytechnic Schools.He studied in di�erent universities: Polytechnic School, Alaska University, and HEC-Paris. He has an engineering degree, MPhil, PhD and MBA. In 2014, Dr. Hoteit was the President of the Lebanese Petroleum Administration – LPA. He is currently Board Member of the Lebanese Petroleum Administration in addition to being Lecturer and Researcher in Energy at Saint Joseph University (USJ) and the American University of Beirut (AUB).

Dr. Rami Harkouss started his journey in 2008 with a Bachelor of Engineering / Petroleum Drilling Engineer qualification from PUT, Iran.In 2010 he got a Master’s and French Engineering Diploma (Chemical Eng.) from ENSCCF, France.In 2013 he got his PhD in Process Chemical Engineering from INRA, France.Between 2013 and 2015 he was Attaché Temporaire Enseignement et Recherche at ENSIC (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Industries Chimiques - Nancy, France), then Part-Time Assistant Professor at USEK (Université Saint-Esprit Kaslik - Lebanon), LIU (Lebanese International University, Beirut - Lebanon), and Lebanese University (Faculty of Engineering, Hadath - Lebanon).

Since September 2017, he is the Chairman of BAU - Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department, having initially joined it in 2015 as a full time Assistant Professor.Dr. Harkouss taught many courses and produced several pieces of research to date. He is an active participant in activities on and o� BAU campus, owing to being, among other, a Member of the Lebanese Order of Engineers, a Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) / Faculty Advisor for SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) - BAU Chapter, and Representative of BAU in Gas and Oil Processing, a European and Lebanese Cooperation project (GOPELC).Dr. Harkouss is also the recipient of awards, among which are Winner of the 1st place out of 48 projects at BAU’s Engineering Projects Day 2015, for the project “Environmental Impacts of Upstream Petroleum Industry: Drilling Operation and Solutions”, in addition to 1st place at ADIPEC 2017 in Abu Dhabi as supervisor of SPE BAU team (out of 16 universities).
