• Legislation That to protect the public interest needs to
guarantee the existence of truth in themeasurement and the certainty of law and orderin the unit of measurement, measurementstandard, measurement methods and measuringinstruments.
Legal Metrology activities in the Republic ofIndonesia was began since 1923 and since 1981,the legislation of legal metrology activities wasruled in Legal Metrology Law No.2 Year 1981.

• National Organization for Legal Metrology
Directorate of Metrology (DoM) is one of thegovernment institutions under Directorate Generalof Consumer Protection and Trade Compliance,Ministry of Trade the Republic of Indonesia whichhas authority in conducting the Legal MetrologyActivities in Indonesia. Referring to the Ministry ofTrade of the Republic Indonesia decree number08/M-DAG/PER/2/2016 on the organization andstructure of Ministry of Trade.
