SafetySafetyisoftheutmostimportanceonraceday!!Athleteswillberunningontheleftsideoftheroad,againstthetraffic.Whentheshoulderoftheroadispresent,runningontheshoulderismandatory.AthleteTeamVehiclesEachathleteteamvehiclewillbeprovidedastaticstickerthatwestronglyurgetobeaffixedtothevehicle.Thisstickeristohelpprovide,additionalvisualawarenesstoothervehiclesontheroadthataraceisinprogress.

Useextremecautionwhendrivingthecoursetosupport,dropoffandpickupyourteammates.YoumustpullallthewayofftheHwywhenstopping.Donotjeopardizethesafetyofanyoftheathletesorothervehiclesontheroadway.Theroadswillnotbeclosedtotrafficduringtherace.Alltrafficlawsmustbeobeyed.EventVehiclesAlleventvehicleswillbeidentifiedbystatic(EVENTSTAFF)stickers.SignificantCrossings/IntersectionsSignificantcrossings/intersectionsalongthecoursewillbemarked.EventsignswillbepostedonthecoursetheThursdaybeforetheevent.Arrowsforcourseguidancewillbepositionedatlocationsasrequiredornecessary.LawEnforcementTheLawEnforcementagenciesinthepanhandleareengagedincoursemanagement.Thefollowingarrangementshavebeenmade:TheTexasCounty(OK)Sheriff’sDepartmentorTexhomaPDwillmaintainandpatrolthesectionofthecoursefromTexhomatotheeasternmostintersectionof95Nand412WTheOKHighwayPatrolwillbestationedinthesectionofthecoursealong412Wbetweenthenorthboundsectionsof95NTheMortonCounty(KS)Sheriff’sDepartment/ElkhartPoliceDepartmentswillmaintainandpatrolthesectionofthecoursefromthewesternmostintersectionof95Nand412WtothetownofElkhartWeatherOtherthanvehiclesourothersignificantsafetyconcernwillbetheweather!SpringintheMidwestcanmeanstormsofsignificantstrength.Pleasebeweatherawareatalltimesandbeconsciousofconditionsthatmightnecessitategettingoffthecourse.
