Oklahoma DOC Reality
Magazine
This magazine will consist of verifiable facts and information, all of
which has occurred with/to me and individuals I know. The purpose is to
bring awareness to society about real life events in the Oklahoma Prison
System. I highlight things politicians don’t want you to know and things
that you should know if you have friends and/or family members in the
system.

My name is Neva Levie, and my husband is currently incarcerated in Oklahoma DOC. He
has been incarcerated for 17 years. Although we knew each other in our youth, we both
went our separate ways and life happened. But over the past 31 years my childhood crush
never ceased and now we are happily married. I have several friends that support what I
do and participate in my adventure as I try and help inmates and make things better for
them. The fight to make a change is not one I feel can be accomplished, but at least we can
voice our issues and concerns. They will be heard, even if it’s not in our lifetime. Television
has tried to make reality shows about prison and inmates, some of it is true, but most of it
doesn’t capture the real life of what is really going on. You have to think ratings and poli-
tics are what they focus on when they make these television shows.
What I will do in this paper is write about real events that have happened to either me, my
husband, or our friends that are incarcerated, and their family members.
There will not be any defamation of character because everything will be true, I will use
real names and real events. The purpose of using real names is so you will know who your
neighbor really is. You may learn a few things about people you thought you knew.
We need things to change in the judicial system. There are more and more individuals be-
ing released and evidence proving that people have been wrongfully convicted. We may
not be able to make a change but we can at least let them know, we aren’t just standing
and taking it without speaking out.
If you have a loved one or a friend incarcerated, I offer self rehabilitation courses, real life
certificate courses. No right or wrong answers, it’s all about real life. I send monthly news-
letters to inmates and educational information. I try to emphasize that they are still loved
and not just a DOC#.
My contact information is below. Anyone is welcome to ask questions or send me com-
ments to add to the reality of Oklahoma Prisons.
May you be Blessed Abundantly with God’s love!

Old Business still seeking answers from April Magazine:
Are employees exempt from the tobacco free facility?
Do any food packages have a warning label “Not for human consumption”
Why did OPS 090113 (regarding Asbestos) get deleted?
Theft By Deception:
Theft by deception is a type of theft crime where an individual uses false pretenses to gain
control of someone’s property. To successfully convict someone of theft through decep-
tion, the state must prove four elements.
What Does the Term “Deception” Mean?
The use of deception is the first element of this charge. It involves creating or reinforcing a
false belief. The false belief includes deceiving someone as to the: Law Perpetrator's in-
tentions Value of property State of mind However, deception does not refer to the fact
that person promises to do or refrain from doing something.
Several months ago I was given the approval to donate games and cards for the visit room at
MACC. Upon my arrival, CO Kennedy asked Lt Bryles if I could take them into the visit room.
I was told no, so I asked to speak with Lt Bryles personally. She explained they would have
to go through the chaplain. My immediate response was “There is not a chaplain at this fa-
cility”, to which I was told there is. I explained that I had called before purchasing the
games, and was approved. CO Kennedy took the basket of games from my hands and left
the lobby. They did not show up in the visit room , were not returned to me when I left. I lat-
er made a call to Volunteer Chaplain Leo Brown, who confirmed that due to the current pay
freeze there has not been a Chaplain at Mack Alford for a while. I sent an email to Warden
Kameron Havernek requesting the games be returned since his facility was not accepting do-
nations. I have sent more than 10 emails to him, he has not responded to my requests, nor
has he answered any of my questions. I called Mack Alford the week of the April 12th, and
Mrs. Goodson informed me that the games were still in the basket and sitting in Tim’s office.
I again sent an email to Kameron requesting when the games would be returned to me. I
have sent him the definition of “Theft by Deception” and still no response. My next step
will be to file the charge. The games cost $60. It’s not about the money, it’s the principle
and the fact that criminals are in charge of rehabilitating criminals! How does that work?
On behalf on a current resident at MACC, I would like to share this story that hap-
pened just last week. Without going into all the details, the basic story is simple. CO
Janes went up to a particular inmate and said he was taking him to segregation. The
reason is not important, but it wasn’t anything to do with a misconduct. The inmate
responded with, “No, I don’t want or need to go to seg.” At that moment, CO Janes
slammed the inmates head on the table in the pod, then proceeded to throw him to
the concrete floor. Instead of CO Janes having an adult conversation to discuss the sit-
uation, he took it upon himself to inflict violence when it was not necessary. We all
know a grievance cannot filed due CO retaliation.
So, let me speak on behalf of the inmates and say to CO Janes, “When you are in the
free world, your behavior would never be tolerated. The badge you wear is a false
sense of security.” Always remember where you are.

This document was part of the April Board Meeting. It’s one of
many Resolution awards. I would like to pull from the document
and make a few comments. Strictly based on my opinion and

"Eyes of Blue" by Arlene Smith: A people persecuted be-yond imagination; To help them he felt, was his obliga-tion. He joined the army in World War II; Not knowing his hell would be Eyes of Blue. When he reached Norman-dy, the beaches were red. Crawling over his brothers who lay already dead. To give this tyrant, this devil his due; Not knowing his own demons, would be Eyes of Blue. He rounded a building securing a town; A young German soldier was just coming round. He plunged his bayonet, the quicker of the two; Killing the young soldier, with Eyes of Blue. He knelt down beside him with tears in his eyes; How long this moment would last, he did not real-ize. He closed the eyes as he thought he should do; Think-ing never again to see those Eyes of Blue. The victor over many in Germany and Japan; It was always difficult tak-ing life from a man. None would haunt him, this he now knew; As long as the soldier, with Eyes of Blue. He died an old man, to heaven he went; For this honorable sol-dier, mercy was sent. First time since the war, so sad but true; A peaceful sleep, not seeing Eyes of Blue.
As this Reality Magazine grows, I would love to add
other states, so please stay tuned. You never know
what I will do next!
Also, everyone please to take some time and thank a
Veteran. We will never know the truly high a price that
was paid by so many souls defending our freedoms.
