2011 SECTIONAL COUNCILSWeather challenges presented an abundance of problems;
however, with adjusted and flexible schedules we ended the
season by completing 13 tremendous Sectional Councils and
canceled only 1. Attendance, participation, excitement, and in-
volvement across Oklahoma gave every indication of a “healthy”
church.
OKLAHOMA AG MINISTRIES EXISTS TO SERVE
BUILDING HEALTHY MINISTERS
ENABLING HEALTHY MINISTERIES
The following Sectional Presbyters were affirmed to continue
serving our Fellowship for an additional two-year term:
Section 3 – Melvin Baker
Section 5E – Darryl Wootton
Section 5W – Bruce McCarty
Section 7 – Weldon Wright
Section 9N – David Brooks
Section 11 – Billy Martin
Steve Lance, Presbyter of Section Nine South, requested that
the Section select another individual to serve. Pastor Lance has
contributed greatly to our leadership team and remains greatly
loved by all; however, he stated that after much prayer he felt
this action was the will of God. He continues to serve effectively
as Noble Assembly of God Pastor.
WELCOMENEW SECTIONAL PRESBYTERDuane Elmore, Pastor of Memorial Assembly of God in Purcell
for sixteen years, was elected to serve as Presbyter for Section
Nine South. He accepted to serve during the Annual Sectional
Council held at Oklahoma City Bethesda on February 10, 2011.
A native Oklahoman, Duane grew up in the greater Oklahoma
City area. He was born in Oklahoma City on October 31, 1964.
Following graduation from Putnam City West High School in
1982, he attended South Oklahoma City Junior College and later
Southwestern College of Christian Ministries where he majored
in Pastoral Ministry.
Reverend Elmore received a Christian Workers Permit in 1987;
he was granted License in 1991; the Investiture of Ordination
in 2008. Each level of ministerial recognition was through the
Oklahoma District Council. His home church, from the time he
was 9 years old, is Oklahoma City Abundant Life Assembly of
God. He was fully involved in numerous Oklahoma Ministries
and served as Youth Pastor in his home church from 1984 to
1994 under direction of Pastor Cecil Brown and Pastor Craig Da-
cus.
Duane Elmore and Misty Hurt were united in marriage in 1988.
They are the proud parents of three children: Rachel (17), Sarah
(15), and Jed (9).
Welcome, Duane and Misty, to the Leadership Team of the Okla-
homa District!

EASTERThis is an exciting season of the year. Easter is coming and I always enjoy this time
of celebration of the resurrection. This gives meaning to our experience as chris-
tians. He Is Alive. There is nothing dead about our experience with the Risen Christ.
We celebrate the fact that our Lord is living and He is still touching people today.
This is a season of miracles.
OKLAHOMA SCHOOL OF MINISTRYThis is a great year for the Oklahoma School of Ministry. Our enrollment and at-
tendance is the highest ever. Students are excited to study God’s Word. We have
open enrollment and we are enrolling new students every day. Encourage students
in your church to give us a call and inquire about enrolling in OSOM.
LA FIESTA | SATURDAY, MAY 7We invite you to come on this very special day for the Oklahoma School of Ministry.
Our Spanish students are preparing a free meal for everyone. We will have plenty
of food, music and fun. Classes will begin at 9:30 am. Our meal will be served at
12:30. You can’t miss this day. We are going to celebrate. All Spanish schools from
all over the state will be joining us.
ORDINATION AT DISTRICT COUNCILThe ordination service is always such a great time and this year we have the largest
number of ordination candidates in the history of Oklahoma. We know these candi-
dates are called into the Harvest Fields of these Last Days and will have the greatest
opportunity to work for our Lord. Your presence in this service will be a tremendous
encouragement to these ministers.
THINK ABOUT THISIn my devotions I was blessed by these words. Jesus didn’t love us just because we
need to be loved. He loved us also that we might learn to love (serve) one another
(John 13:34). Henry Drummond, in his classic sermon “The Greatest Thing in the
World,” explained how such a transformation takes place: If a piece of ordinary
steel attached to a magnet and left there, after a while the magnetism of the magnet
passes into the steel so that it too becomes a magnet. The way we learn to love
others, then, is by staying so close to Jesus that His love becomes our love for oth-
ers. The Jesus in you may be the only Jesus someone ever meets. Make sure they
see the Jesus people have always loved. “For I have given you an example, that you
should do as I have done.” (John 13:15)

On August 5, 2010, 33 miners became trapped a half mile
below the surface in the San Jose gold and copper mine in
northern Chile. It was 2 ½ weeks later when rescue work-
ers were finally able to drill a tiny borehole in the emergency
shelter that they were surprisingly all detected alive. Three
4-inch holes were then drilled to lower necessary supplies
while Chilean authorities feverishly carved out a plan of rescue.
Of those essentials sent down to the miners, one with particular
significance is worth mentioning: 33 mini Bibles!
Since the heart-wrenching vision of a young insurance consul-
tant by the name of Sam Cochran, Light-for-the-Lost has been
lowering down hope in the dark regions around the globe.
Funding resources such as audio, visual and printed materials,
LFTL continues to provide tools to get this Message of Hope to
as many people as possible. Through the financial leadership
of men and the partnership of local churches, LFTL to date has
raised more than 200 million dollars.
Oklahoma has been a leader in this movement for many years.
Our relationship with missionaries has been historic. These
“boots-on-the-ground” have gone into risky but revolutionary
places, and we’ve had a part. Now, more than ever, because of
the times, our relationship and participation is called to a higher
level.
“Let’s continue this leading legacy of light. Together, we can aggressively interrupt the destructive deeds of darkness by rushing in Light for all who are lost. Join me… let’s lower down Hope and turn on the LIGHT!”

Exciting things are happening in Oklahoma Women’s Ministries!! We have taken our first steps in raising funds to equip the kitchen
at the new campsite. This is taking place through the missions
extension of our department called LIFE (Ladies Investing For Eter-
nity.)
On March 5th, in spite of the chilly weather, ladies from across
our state converged on the new camp in Sparks to catch the vi-
sion. As we walked across this incredible site, we saw what God
is doing and began to dream about what will take place in the fu-
ture. Thank you to each local church and every individual lady that
gives to LIFE! You are the reason we are able to support such an
awesome dream that God is bringing to pass.

On March 18, O.C.M. hosted our first ever B.G.M.C. Pheasant Hunt. The day was filled with great fellowship,
good hunting, and a stirring missionary
challenge. The event benefited mission-
ary John Siebold and his ministry work in
India. Also, on hand at the hunt was David
Boyd, National B.G.M.C. Director. Thanks to
those in attendance, we were able to raise
$13,600 in commitments for missionary
projects in India.
