3 months of radiology- you will be responsible for all plain radiographs from osu.
7 am- 5 pm, no nights or weekends.
the other 9 months you will have no radiology call or responsibilities other than weekly reading and showing up for book club from 7am- 8am every friday morning.

1 month of electives- interns usually choose-
2 weeks of anesthesia
show up, intubate one patient at 7am and then go home.
2 weeks of ent
dr. nick bull’s sister is the attending and the work schedule is similar to that of anesthesia.

1 month as the house officer
responsible for nursing calls/concerns as well as new admissions for the entire hospital from 7pm until 7am.
there are 2 interns working together during each house officer shift.
private call room for radiology.

15 shifts- 12 hours each
may include weekend, evening and night shifts occasionally.

usually only about a half day monday through friday.
pgy-2 year
you will begin all of the normal radiology rotations-
chest/body, neuro, muskuloskeletal, mammo, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy.

you are also required to attend radiation physics lectures every tuesday and thursday from 7am- 8am.
pgy-2 year
beginning half way through your pgy-2 year, you will start “baby call”-
one evening per week (5pm- 10pm) in addition to your normal 7am- 5pm shift.
pgy-2 year
beginning in october of your pgy-2 year you will begin taking weekend day call for osu.
every 3rd weekend
7am- 5pm
pgy-3 year
you now will enter the call pool.
one week of 5pm- 2am shifts every 8 weeks.
you will be responsible for all stat imaging for the 103 hospitals that our group reads for. there will be 2 attendings on the night shift to help out and check you off.
$450 per shift in addition to your salary.
$3150/ week
pgy-3 year
you will also start going to kansas city for one month per year to work at children’s mercy hospital doing pediatric radiology.

physics boards in october in chicago.
after you pass this, you can sleep in an extra hour on tuesdays and thursdays!

pgy-5 year
1 month off to study for written boards which take place in october in chicago.
2 months off to study for oral boards which are in the spring.
1 month in washington dc at armed forces institute of pathology.
1 month in kansas city at children’s mercy.
interventional fellowship
will hopefully begin next year
50% at osu doing mostly general and vascular ir
50% at cancer treatment center of america doing more interventional oncology.

where to live
tulsa- midtown and south tulsa are nice areas, school quality varies greatly.
broken arrow- 20 min drive, get more for your money, excellent schools, growing quickly.
owasso- 20 min drive, get the most for your money but more rural. excellent schools.
jenks- 20 min drive, slightly more expensive but probably the best schools.
