CARING AND CAMPAIGNING FOR THE COMMUNITY

Please raise any issue or problem of concern you would like help with.

TELL US WHAT YOU THINK

1. FOXES

Graham Buchanan is keen to hear your views as to what you think the local Council should do about urban foxes in Old Town. Graham said “I know, from speaking with local residents, that many people like to see foxes in their local neighbourhood, but many others feel they are a nuisance and that the local Council should address this issue. Clearly local opinions are divided – we would love to hear what you think”

2. CAVENDISH SCHOOLCavendish School has recently confirmed plans to become an “all through” school from next September, providing much needed new school places in the local area. Many local residents have been in touch with concerns about the impact on traffic and parking as a result of the increase in numbers (about 40 additional pupils in the first year).

Local campaigner Vivienne de Havilland-Geraghty said “We need to work with the school and the local Council so that this change causes the minimum of disruption for local residents. Please do get in touch with your views”

CAROLINE ANSELLSecuring a brighter future for Old Town & Eastbourne

Thank you to the actions of local resident and Old Town campaigner, Vivienne de Havilland-Geraghty, the Council have now promised to clear the weeds in St Mary’s Road on a regular basis. Vivienne said “The weeds were becoming a problem, and were making the local road quite unsightly – I am delighted that the Council have listened, and will now take action.”

DILLINGBURGH ROAD – PLANNING UPDATEThe local Planning Committee have recently refused a new application for a house and garage in the grounds of a house in Dillingburgh Road. This follows concerns from local residents about the effect on the character of the local road. Local campaigner Anne Angel said “Along with other local residents, I had expressed my concerns about this application, and I am delighted that the Planning Committee listened to our views about the negative impact this would have had on the local area.”

ST MARY’S ROAD

'Four generations of my family live in the town. I love Eastbourne & Willingdon, it’s my home, and I have a clear plan to secure a brighter future for us all.

I live in Old Town with my husband, and have brought up our children here. My mother, three sisters and their families also live in the Old Town area, so it is safe to say that local community is important. My goal is to help build a stronger community, where everyone feels safe and included.

I have been working to a clear plan that will secure a brighter future for my home town, and everybody in it. For more information, visit www.carolineansell.co.uk, or get in touch directly by using the contact details provided.'
