Cole Washburn – Biography Cole Washburn has a vision to reignite a passion for lyrical beauty in songs that capture the heart. Since releasing his debut EP ‘Traveler’s Moon’ Cole’s career has sky rocketed. He has garnered 5 nominations and 2 wins for Americana Song and Album of the Year. His love of traveling and connecting with fans has kept him busy on the road touring TX and Oklahoma, Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky and Illinois. Washburn has released two music videos for ‘Anastasia’ and ‘The Widow’, directed by Michael Davies (HGTV, GNT, The Property Brothers) Short Mountain Distillery has come on as a sponsor and is releasing 10,000 bottles of their select moonshine which will include a ‘Traveler’s Moon’ collectors coin. Here’s what the press is saying: “With the current mainstream country sound leaning heavy on influences from the pop and rock genres, the one thing that is missing from a majority of the songs that we are fed are lyrics that are full of emotion, full of heart, and crafted very poetically. For those types of songs you need to look to country music’s subgenres like folk or Americana. With his new EP Traveler’s Moon, Cole Washburn finds the perfect combination of all of the left of the mainstream dial aspects to put together his own unique brand of folk based music. Songs like “Anastasia” and the title track “Traveler’s Moon” are both great examples of who Washburn is as a singer/songwriter as both songs rest on simple acoustic instrumentation which forces him to deliver the song with his vocal ability and allow the lyrics to be the focus; lyrics that are deeper and have a strong foundation. Whereas those songs help to define him, songs like the piano based “Ol Will Brown” and the bluegrass tinged “Head Above Water” showcase the true talent that Washburn is as he leans outside of his norm and offers a different feel to the EP. The trick to balancing between different styles is to somehow pull them all together and make them work with one another which Cole Washburn has easily done. This is a strong EP that is built to satisfy those looking for stronger songs and performances that lean on more traditional based sounds.” -One Stop Country

Cole Washburn is a singer/songwriter who understands the history, the legacy of not just those who have come before him but has the understanding of deep-rooted traditions in storytelling. Each of the six tracks on his Traveler’s Moon EP could be excerpts from six books you want to fall into. Leaving intrigue and want in their wake. Since we last spoke to Washburn he’s collected Best Americana Song of the Year from International Music and Entertainment Associations (IMEA) and continues to interact with fans as his name becomes known around the world. Today we feature his “Anastasia” from the remarkable EP Traveler’s Moon. Here is what Washburn says about the track, “Anastasia is really a song about addiction, recovery and redemption. Not only does the guy get his life together he also reunites with the love of his life. So as sad as it may start out, it really is a song full of hope.“ Also check out Cole Washburn -Traveler’s Moon -One Stop Country LISTEN: Cole Washburn ‘Only Love’ Franklin, Tennessee native Cole Washburn put his nose to the grindstone when it came to his music career, and it looks like it’s paying off. After releasing his debut album ‘Traveler’s Moon’ he began touring extensively around Texas, Illinois, Oklahoma, Missouri, and his home state of Tennessee, scored an Americana Music Association showcase and was nominated for several awards, including a Hollywood Music Award, IMEA Award, Akademia Award and the International Songwriting Competition. Now he’s releasing a new single titled ‘Only Love’ that’s dedicated to his family, friends, but most of all his fans. “You know there’s one power in the universe that truly has the ability to change things and make them better,” he says. “How I treat my friends and my family and fans makes a difference. I hope I love them the way I want to be loved. I hope I can make a difference.” Set to an incredibly bluesy guitar tone with added acoustic guitar, mandolin and soft, unobtrusive drums, this track instigates a slow groove with a smooth country vocal delivery and a palatable melody. The lyrics remain simple, but the message is put across well as there is no need to over-complicate it. Cole Washburn – Press Cole Washburn – Traveler’s Moon Genre: Americana, Roots, Country Location: Tennessee Great music doesn’t have a genre, it just sounds good and carries a lot of substance, and that’s what Cole Washburn is bringing on his latest 6-song EP release, Traveler’s Moon. The Tennessee based artist offers his own brand of storytelling about life and love, all set to Americana and Roots music. Cole’s sound is comparable to such Americana greats as The Civil Wars, and would easily fit any radio station whose format fits both Country and Americana music. Of the six tracks available on Traveler’s Moon, my favorite song is Head Above The Water because, this song is very relatable and encouraging. Cole sings about the ups and downs we all experience in life and relationships, advising us to keep our heads above the water and despite any misfortunes we might experience. The female vocal compliments Cole’s lead vox, and I appreciated the melodies being simple enough for me to sing along. I found myself singing the chorus to this song at random times throughout my day, so I know that this tune will stick with anyone who can appreciate good Americana tunes. In addition to Head Above The Water, I enjoyed Beautiful To Me, the EP’s title track – Traveler’s Moon, and Ol Will Brown. Each of these tracks help the project keep its consistency and flow, without losing any luster. Overall, Cole Washburn is a very cool artist whose new EP, Traveler’s Moon, is a powerful one. If you like laid back songs that are filled with emotion and raw talent, I’d absolutely advise you to check out this artist’s music. - Review By: Shaine Freeman for I Am Entertainment - Oct 22, 2014 Cole Washburn ‘Traveler’s Moon’ EP – Music Review Rush, rush, rush. Get to the point. Text. Emoticon. Nowadays, it seems everyone is in such a hurry to communicate. Words are abbreviated. The time to stop and smell the roses is best spent sending an image of a rose in a Tweet. Where does a singer-songwriter like Cole Washburn fit into this fast-paced and party-fueled modern country world? It seems as though he’s the tea kettle on the hot stove; his words take a few minutes to percolate. His voice wakes up after a few sips. In the six track EP Traveler’s Moon, Washburn’s sojourn cultivates

numerous references to the sea/oceans, working through memories and simple beauty. His guitar orchestrations in many of the tracks is subtle and strangely similar. However, there are a few tracks that stand out. “The Widow” is one of the better songs. I felt like this song had an eery state, the beginning harmonies deflected from the previous tracks’ routine acoustic guitar opening. That contrast made the singing almost come across as a woodsy chant. Washburn’s voice is folksy, rich with character and charming bravado. Yet, in this song, his vocals sounded almost melancholy. The title track is a superb piece. The lyrics tumbled along like the worn-out souls of cowboy boots. You felt like you were a part of the story, that your life followed the glowing orb in the sky. “Ol Will Brown” is nothing like the other tracks – and showcases a completely different side to Washburn. It’s a fun ditty. Think Dixie and rag-tag and a little bit of New Orleans. Overall, I give high marks to Washburn’s EP Traveler’s Moon. Surprisingly, I though his award-winning “Anastasia” was my least favorite. I felt like it didn’t show case his range quite as much as “The Widow.” Still all the songs leading up to the last three tracks took a bit of ‘percolating’ before I really sighed with content. That’s the long version anyway. Grade A. - AUTHOR Melissa Kucirek DATE October 10, 2014

Cole Washburn – Traveler’s Moon Heartwarming folksy americana is what to expect when putting Cole Washburn’s EP Traveler’s Moon on for a spin. Opening with ‘Anastasia’, Cole Washburn’s signature sound is firmly established with its warm tones and gentle rhythm. As an opening track, it’s the perfect introduction to Washburn’s style, with the lap steel notes that ebb and flow through the track alongside the beautiful female harmonies. ‘Beautiful To Me’ leans towards the acoustic stylings of Damien Rice, but delivered in a unique way that raises the song up as a meticulously crafted song that is deceptively simple with a heartwarming refrain that is as sentimental as it is memorable. ‘Head Above The Water’ carries with it a sense of space and feels ever so

slightly distant in a way that gives it something of a live feel. It’s a more lively and upbeat track, with a strong drum groove that inspires some serious toe tapping. ‘The Widow’ has melancholy running right through it, with its wistful vocal wails, while title track ‘Traveler’s Moon’ holds steady with a strong groove that underpins its characterful guitar work and Cole Washburn’s own distinctively warm toned vocal. Drawing to a close, ‘Ol Will Brown’ comes with a healthy dose of influences from Randy Newman. In fact, it is the kind of track that would sit perfectly on a Pixar movie soundtrack. - BY CHRIS · OCT 7, 2014
