Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity Column in Olomouc is a monument erected to the glory of God between 1716 and 1754th.Its main purpose was a spectacular celebration of the Catholic Church and faith, partly due to a feeling of gratitude for ending the plague, which struck in Moravia from 1714 till 1716th All the artists and master craftsmen who worked on the column were Olomouc citizens, building column was also seen as an expression of local patriotism.

35 m high column is the highest statue of the Czech Republic and includes a small chapel. Since 1995, along with Marian column and Baroque fountains it has become the national monument and in 2000 it was, as one of the best examples of Central European Baroque, classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.
