“Indian Hockey Legend” - DYAN CHAND Started his career as a soldier in Indian army. He

played for the army hockey team.. He qualified for the olympic team as center forward. In 1928 olympics Amsterdam Chand scored 14 goals in

5 matches.

Indian team under his captaincy won the gold battling against germany (8 – 1) in the finals. Chand scored 4 goals

 Overall, in 3 Olympic tournaments, Chand had scored 33 goals in 12 matches

• August 29, Chand's birthday, is celebrated as National Sports Day in India.

• Dhyan Chand holds record for the most international goals. >1000

• The National Stadium, Delhi was renamed Dhyan Chand National Stadium in 2002 in his honour.

She won a bronze medal in the 2000 Summer Olympics at Sydney lifting 110 kg in the Snatch and 130 kg in the Clean and Jerk for a total of 240 kg

She is the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal

The most sucessful sportsman of india. Paes is the second man to win a medal

in individual sport in India. Won bronze in  1996 Atlanta Olympics He won 46 career titles in doubles and 

mixed doubles events. His highest ranking is 1st in 1999 and

now he holds the 8th position.

Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore ( Jaisalmer, Rajasthan) is an Indian shooter who won the silver medal in Men's Double Trap at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens

Achievements• He has won Gold Medals in two World Cup Shooting Competitions, in

(Sydney) 2004 and (Cairo) 2006.• In 2006 he won the Bronze Medal in the World Cup Final in (Spain) (an

event only for the top 12 shooters of the world)• In all, from the period of 2002 to 2006 he had won 25 International Medals

in highly competitive competitions in his sport of Doubletrap Shooting

 He won gold for Men's 10m Air Rifle  shooting in  2008 Beijing Olympic Games, The first Indian to win an individual gold medal at the Olympic Games.

 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, he won bronze for boxing, the first ever Olympic medal for an Indian boxer

He won a silver and bronze in common wealth games in 2006 and 2010 respectively.
