Olympic hockey teams 2014

The 2014 olympics had a lot to display in terms of hockey and I will explain the reasons why these thirteen teams were successful

Team Germany

Team germany has never been a strong team

They had the 10 spot coming into the plympics

Germany had some very solid defenseman

Cristian ehroff, denis seidenberg and alexander sulzer

Team Sweden

In the 2014 olympics team Sweden didn’t have a lot of confidence

two of the best players werent going to compete due to injury henrik sedin and henrik zeterberg

Sweden ended up winning the silver medal

playing great defence had a great powerplay and a solid goalie

Team norway

Team norway bad olympic team

Pour defence and offence

Great in olympics bad at hockey

No nhl players on roster

Team latvia

Lost to canada in the quaterfinals

Played decent in the tournement

No nhl players

Good coaching

Team Switzerland

Team switzerland has never really been known for their hockey this year they put up a pretty good fight

they played very good against very talented teams

the main reason for their success was goaltender jonas hiller

teams wouldn’t worry about their offence it was their goaltending

Team finland

Team finland played an extremely talented tournament

missing pretty much their star players louis ericson mikko koivu and valtteri filppula

the team was relying on their veteran players

including teemu selanne

they ended up defeating usa in the bronze medal game

Team slovakia

Had a great team in 2010

Had boston bruins captain 6.9 zdeno chara

Did not place in top ten this olympics

Team Russia

Team russia was huge disappointment this year

they were a team filled with stars

but just in the end didn’t work well as a team

they didn’t place in the standings

Team austria

Decent in the olympics

1 nhl player in tomas vanek

Didn’t place top 8

Team czech republic

Team czech republic was a team that wasent expected to do much

and which didn’t they placed in the top eight

and with many of their players now to old for the olympics

probably wont be a successful team anymore

Team slovania

Team slovania did very well in the oympics

they were in the top eight

and it wasn't excepted at all

the team only had one nhl player anze kopitar

who was the leading scorer on the team and the captain of the team

Team USA

Team usa came into the olympics with a very good looking team

they had some of the best players in the nhl

looked good in the round robin

they won their first game but it went all downhill from there

they lost to team canada

then lost the bronze medal 5-0 to team finland

Team canada

team Canada had a dream team this year

an extremely talented team they won the gold medal

had great goaltending in carey price

amazing defence from players like shea weber drew doughty and our vancouver canuck dan hamhuis
