SIGNIFICANCE OF SRI RAMANAVAMI
SALUTATIONS to Lord Rama, an Incarnation of Lord
Vishnu, who is measureless, who is of the nature of
pure Consciousness and bliss, who is the consort of
Sita, Master of Sri Hanuman, and the Lord of the three
worlds, who took His birth at His own will in order to
establish righteousness, destroy the wicked and
protect His devotees. Ramnavami or the birthday of
Lord Rama falls on the 9th day of the bright fortnight of
the month of Chaitra (March-April).
Rama was the Lord Hari Himself, incarnate on earth
for the destruction of Ravana. He was well
accomplished, beautiful and endowed with royal
marks. His glory and prowess were unlimited. He was
peerless on earth. He was free from malice. He was
gentle. He was the protector of all His people.

SRI RAMANAVAMI
NASSTA NEWSLETTER OM SAI RAM | Issue # 14 4
Dear Devotees,
Jai Sairam...NASSTA has
conducted 5th Vigraha
Prathistapna anniversary
celebrations on March 14th, 15th
and 16th successfully. Thousands
of devotees participated in the
anniversary celebrations and
obtained blessings of Baba. We
have introduced Chavadi
Utsavam first time since Temple
was consecrated in 2009.
Chavadi Utsavam was conducted
similar to the way it is being
organized in Shirdi. Saibaba
Utsava Moorthy was taken in a
procession from Sanctum to
Chavadi which was built on plaza
area. Priests have chanted
various mantras including
Shodasha Upachara Puja. The
Chavadi program was completed
with Singing and Bharata Natyam
by kids. The decoration on
Sunday, 3/16 was spectacular.
Anniversary program was
concluded with Sai Vrath on 3/16
evening. Also, we have extended
52 week Sai Paduka and
Satchiritra program for another
year. As part of anniversary
programs, we conducted
competitions, Devotional Singing,
Drawing and Spelling Bee for kids
and youth. Hundreds of devotees
participated in these competitions.
Parents and kids really enjoyed
participating in these
competitions.
Priests, committee coordinators
and volunteers have dedicated so
much time in planning and
executing anniversary tasks. I
would like to thank sponsors who
came forward and donated to the
Temple generously for
anniversary programs. I would like
to appreciate volunteers who
provided us much needed support
during anniversary. I would like to
extend my sincere gratitude to all
devotees for making the Temple
Anniversary event a successful
and memorable event.
On March 22nd, we celebrated
Holi/Dulheti in the Temple parking
lot. Thousands of devotees
enjoyed a lot. This event would
not have been a successful
without volunteer’s hard work.
Devotees have enjoyed the music
and they could not stop dancing.
Kitchen served a delicious food to
devotees.
Thank you for your continued
support. Please E-mail me at
with any comments or
suggestions as we strive to
improve the temple services and
devotee experience.
Venkat Maddi.
President.
President’s Message
NASSTA NEWSLETTER OM SAI RAM Issue # 14 1
Paduka Puja
Sri Sai Satcharitra enables us to experience Baba through the faces of
many devotees who were present during the time Baba was in physical
body. NASSTA is happy to announce that the program started last year
is being continued this year.
The first year of Paduka puja concluded on March 16, 2014 and the next year’s program also began on the
same day. The last and first chapters of Satcharitra were recited as part of this program.
This weekly program will continue through 2014 and conclude as part of next year's anniversary in the month of
March, 2015.
As part of this program, priest/committee members carry Baba padukas/ photo to the devotee’s house. Baba is
received in the form of padukas and photo by the devotee. Once seated in the house, the priest performs the
shodasa upachara puja to Baba. Following this is sankirtan or the singing of divine songs by participants or any
other arrangements made by the host. Then, the host reads out the chapter from Sai Satcharitra for that week.
The priest explains the importance / significance of the chapter and relevance to us. This is followed by aarati /
prasad and the padukas/photo are brought back to the temple.
The grand intention behind this program is to cover guru pada puja (prayer to the divine feet of guru) / sankirtan
or devotional singing / parayan or reciting of books / puranas and aarati in one evening. All of these represent
various forms of worship to Baba and hopefully spark the light of baba in each and everyone's heart and spread
Shirdi Sai Baba’s philosophy and purpose of manifestation on this earth.
The paduka puja slots are being filled and please contact temple or puja coordinator to book according to your
wishes.
