OMHU is a design concern that manufactures exceptional accessories for mobility and daily living. Founded on the belief that life is imperfect and beautiful, our groundbreaking designs support people’s abilities as they change throughout life.
Omhu celebrates good design because it’s life-enhancing and fun. By creating more exciting options Omhu changes the way people feel about aging and ability.
WHAT IS OMHU?
Omhu Canes were designed on the principles of Universal Design: to make the cane adaptable to as many different people as possible. They’re meant to last a lifetime and like the best of us, improve with age. Our Scandinavian heritage has long heralded the reassuring sensory input of touching wood; the Omhu cane handle is made of birch. The handle is also explicitly wide at the point of grip, to relax some of the tensile stress required by delicate hand muscles and joints.
The thin rubber strip secures your grip and the grip of the cane itself if leaned against a wall. The cane handle is finished with natural vegetable-based oil, making it easy to clean. Omhu also has proven better stability. Our patented tip incorporates the same technology used in hiking boots and running shoes, with an air cushion for a smooth walk at any speed and a superior grip for the most uneven surfaces.

In response to several requests for a black tie cane, Omhu has realized the Tuxedo. It is the criminally gorgeous and brooding hero. It is the reflection of a love affair. It evokes the finesse of a hardwood dashboard on an antique sports car or a yacht headed for Monaco. The Tuxedo is a proud bold cane meant for that person who wants for nothing.
Made to all the same high standards as our original Omhu/00, the Tuxedo’s birch handle is hand-stained, allowing a subtle exposure of wood grain. Grab it when you need to be inspired to walk the longer mile, climb the taller mountain, camp the extra night.
The Omhu Sport is made from a single shaft of bicycle-grade aluminum, providing unparalleled stability. The handle is precision dipped in rubber-coating for a smooth transition of materials. The Omhu logo is reflective to keep you visible at night. This is Omhu’s lightest cane, but sacrifices none of the aesthetic or ergonomic qualities.

SIZING 1. CHOOSE BY HEIGHT Our canes are pre-sized to fit three average heights: Small, Medium and Large. If you're purchasing an Omhu cane as a gift, for example, and don't immediately know how tall the cane should be, height is your best gauge for sizing.

When OMHU first conceived of The 00 cane, it was already envisioned as resting on its counterpart, the Cane Dock, because traditional wisdom and research had shown we always find special places to put our special objects. The Omhu/00 would be no different. The perfect fit of the unique Omhu handle and the satisfying conjunction with the round dock have a Yin-Yang appeal.
Install the dock next to your favorite chair or by your bed, so you know where it is in an instant. It also makes a beautiful home accessory, useful for hanging your baseball caps, dog leashes, swimming goggles or shopping totes when not supporting your cane.
