The government’s use of performance information in making budget decisions has accelerated in the last decade.

OPIF is an approach to expenditure management that directs resources for major final outputs toward results and measures agency performance through key indicators

PREXC is a form of structuring the budget into programs and outcomes. It organizes the budget according to objectives and strategies.

PIB is a budgeting approach that uses performance information to assist in deciding where the funds will go. Performance information are presented in the budget documents.
