PURPOSE

p u r p o s e

Purpose

• What is All-Age Worship?

• Why do churches need to incorporate all-age worship events into their community life?

p u r p o s eAll-age worship is not:

• children having to sit quietly through a regular sunday service

• adults being entertained by sunday school items

• limited to age at all!

p u r p o s e

All-age worship is:

• authentic worship within the christian community

• in which children learn about symbol, silence, and sacred space

• and adults encounter the kingdom of god as god intended

p u r p o s e

Matthew 19:13-15

One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him.

But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.

p u r p o s eall age worship is:

• a teaching opportunity

• a celebration of the all-embracing love of god

• an intentional opportunity to connect, belong, and include

Message1. Where do we want to be in the

story – Jesus, the donkey, the disciples, the crowd?

2. Why did Jesus enter Jerusalem on the back of a donkey?

3. What does this story teach us?

May our light shine in the darknessAs we walk before the crossMay Your glory fill the whole earth As the water over the seas.
