ContributionsContributions This paper studies the specific QoS requirements of
healthcare application, considering context-awareness as an essential part to adapt the network performance to a new situation.
Also discuss the strengths and weakness of related work regarding context awareness and different characteristics of WSN for healthcare.
It also points out remaining challenges and addresses open research issues on this subject.

Slide 4 Problem DefinitionProblem Definition Remote medical monitoring using WSN should consist
of many features like, Continuous medical monitoring, Emergency alerts, Location tracking, Home automation.
The QoS level must adapt itself dynamically ,as the patient condition may change so the QoS requirement also changes.
Scarce resources also makes it challenging to support context-awareness and to deal with security, fault tolerance and mobility.

Problem DefinitionProblem Definition
There are very little research work has focused on QoS support for wireless sensor networks in health monitoring applications, a lot still need to be done to achieve context-aware WSN. And no single
The concern should be given to two perspectives, User-oriented, Network-oriented.

Network ModelNetwork ModelThe network model has several basic components: All Biomedical sensors (BMSs) transmits data to a central
node, called body sensor mote (BSM). All BSMs process & forward data to multiple sink in multi-hop
fashion. In this architecture ,the master and slave BSMs form clusters of
BASN ,these clusters form the backbone network ,as shown in previous slide.
Each BSM node broadcast a HELLO packet to its neighbors which contains:• Its current position.• Residual energy.• Average queuing delays.

Proposed QoS-aware RoutingProposed QoS-aware RoutingDMQoS consists of 5 modules:
• The dynamic packet classifier.• Delay control.• Reliability control.• Energy-aware geographic routing.• QoS-aware queuing and scheduling.
• OP: Ordinary data packets.
• RP: Reliability driven data packets.
• DP: Delay driven data packets.
• CP: Most critical data packets.
