On the Move

American author, salesman, and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar says, “If people like you they'll listen to you, but if they trust you they'll do business with you.” That trust is garnered through building strong and long-lasting relationships. Relationship building is an important component in a successful business. To develop a strong relationship, potential customers and clients must consistently see you face to face.

Members of the PCC Chemax management and sales team were on the move in November attending meetings as they sought to build relationships, acquire business opportunities, and market knowledge. These business generating trips will continue in 2016 in an effort to increase sales for the product lines of PCC Synteza S.A., PCC Rokita, PCC Exol, and PCC Chemax.

Houston, Texas, Asia, Mexico, and Poland are some of the places visited in November by President and CEO Randy Snavely, Executive Vice President Walter “Bo” Mebane, Sales Manager Stephanie Angelo, and International Account Manager Bob Payton.

Domestic Account Managers were also on the move in November selling and attending some tradeshows to connect with new customers and reconnect with past customers.

As President and CEO Randy Snavely stated in the January 2015 newsletter, “We have established some high goals, brought in new talent and hopefully a new can do attitude. Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything. This means improving on every process from selling, to entering orders, processing and fulfilling the orders and ensuring that we are the best supplier in class to any of our customers. We have good people working here at PCC Chemax. We work for a good company.”

“Punctuality is one of the cardinal business virtues: always insist on it in your subordinates.” ~ Don Marquis

Employee Training In an effort to remain current on hazard communications, QC Lab Manager Ken Royce conducted the Hazard Communication Training Class for 2015 on November 3rd. Under the law, employees have the right to know the chemicals to which they may be exposed in their daily living and on the job. So it is with this knowledge, Ken is tasked with the responsibility of keeping employ-ees abreast of hazard communications. Two ses-sions were held to accommodate PCC Chemax employees. Snapshot The nearly 15 month old Piper Aiken popped in to PCC Chemax for a brief visit on November 5th. She is the daughter of Sales

Administrative Specialist Melissa Aiken.

Annual Trip In mid-November, Plant Engineer, Paul Graham made his annual trip to South Dakota to hunt pheasant. His son, Paul III, cousins and friends joined him on the jaunt. Paul says, (it was a) “great hunt and memories despite the milder weather conditions this year.”

Lizz Walker’s City of Light Visit My 24 year old daughter, Sigourney Woodfork, is doing well in Paris after the terrorist attacks on Friday, November 13th. Sigourney was heading to the Le Petit Combodge, one of the restaurants attacked. Thankfully, she was running late as usual and wasn’t there when the gunmen opened fire killing 15 people at that location. On November 20th - 27th I traveled to the City of Light on a trip that had been plan-ned months prior to the attacks. For a minute I seriously considered not going, but I could not postpone seeing my child who I had not seen since January 9, 2015. Sigourney is in Paris pursuing a Master’s Degree.

Security was tight. Armed police and military personnel were very visible during my visit. Despite the security concerns, I loved Paris! It’s everything that I had imagined. As Charles Dickens once said, “What an immense impression Paris made upon me. It is the most extraordinary place in the world! “

Many thanks to all who inquired about the safety of my daughter, wished me a safe trip, and checked on me while I was in Paris.
