On Thursday, October 4, the Village of Great Neck Plaza presented six people from the Plaza with

"Star Performer" awards. The village instituted this "feel good program" whereby residents are invited

to catch someone in the act of being kind and helpful. The resident is given an opportunity to observe

another human being going above and beyond the "call of duty", and honor that person by nominating

them as a "Star Performer". To qualify for this award you need to be someone who goes out of your

way to make people feel special and make Great Neck Plaza a better place to work, shop and live. The

six proud awardees from all walks of life, truly exemplified what we look for in a Star Performer!

Ruth Weiss nominated her dentist, Dr. John Chicvak, who she says "is very kind and gentle, he has

been my dentist for several years and people always compliment me on my teeth. He takes extra care

to see that I am comfortable and at ease before he starts any work. He is special as a human being and

as a doctor and he is really a Star Performer in my eyes."
