Carols by Glowstick, Sun, Dec 13Sun, Dec 13 | 5:00 – 6:00 pm | Sanctuary

Christmas is already on the horizon, and Carols by Glowstick is only a month away! The last two years have been spectacular occasions, with Truro crammed full of excited visitors from our neighborhoods and communities. And the reason for its success is you! You brought your friends and neighbors, sang your hearts out, waved glowsticks with abandon, and ate s’mores around bonfires. And all we are asking this year is: will you do it again?

More info at: truroanglican.com/carolsbyglowstick.

A Call for Vestry NominationsTruro Anglican will hold elections in March to replace six Vestry members whose terms are expiring. The Vestry seeks recommendations from the congregation.

CONTINUED FROM FRONT

On Tithing (continued)

It took a year or two to realize that I really had it right as a child—the question is how much of God’s riches entrusted to us we should give back to Him. Viewed that way, His yoke is easy and His burden is light. We committed to reach the biblical standard of tithing in two years. A subsequent promotion and raise made it easy to reach that goal ahead of schedule. Ever since, God has blessed us with more than enough income to meet our family needs, allowing us to donate freely to other causes in addition to our tithe to the church. It has never been stressful. To the contrary, we view giving from the abundance we have been given as a natural part of following Christ. We are blessed by it.

YOUNG ADULTS

Young Adults Thanksgiving Today | 6:30 pm | Undercroft

We are big fans of giving thanks here at Truro. We are therefore big fans of Thanksgiving Day (and of course Thanksgiving meals)! So the Young Adults community will have a Thanksgiving Dinner today. Come one, come all, if you are an adult and young, you are invited!

Here’s how it works: we will provide the Turkeys, and the remainder is potluck if you are able. If you’re not able to bring a dish, DON’T let that stop you from coming. If you or any of your friends and co-workers are looking for a good old Thanksgiving meal and looking to make friends around your life stage in Fairfax, then come and give thanks with Truro’s young adults community.

Please note there are no youth activities, (ReAwakenings or Youth Group) and no Kid Zone

or WEE Worship, next Sun, Nov 29. Sunday School will take place.
