“Receiving praise and celebration for my achievements from teachers has been an eye opener. Our teachers genuinely care about how we are managing our work and find different ways to present information so that we always understand. I have experienced lots of support at ONCAMPUS and although it has been hard work the foundations of the IFP are so strong I don’t believe there is anything I won’t understand when I start my degree.”

“I chose Coventry University because of its rankings and its good reputation for Engineering in the UK, which will lead to better job opportunities when I graduate. My teachers at ONCAMPUS are really nice and friendly. They are different to what I am used to - we get lots of practical things to do to enhance what we are learning, which is a better way of studying. ONCAMPUS has been a really fun experience but also beneficial as it has prepared me for what will be expected at Coventry University.”

“I always wanted to be a car designer and I liked the Automotive Design courses in the UK, especially at Coventry. There were a lot of facilities available to use, for example, metal workshops. The most important thing I learnt at ONCAMPUS was how to research independently before starting a design. The teachers were very different, as UK education is more focused on research, so gaining inspiration for my designs I found very important.”

“I wanted to study in the UK because of the quality of education provided, especially in the health care sector. I like the teachers at ONCAMPUS; a lot of them have worked with international students before and understand our needs. In the UK the learning style is different: we have group discussions, presentations and interactive learning is promoted. This approach has taught me to study more independently in comparison to my studies in India. I am very happy with my accommodation, it’s close to the University and the common room is great.”

“I really appreciate the approachability of staff here. I like that when I have a problem I can go and speak to someone about it, whether that’s a teacher or management staff. The learning style here gives me the opportunity to do a lot of independent study and improve my time management skills. “My friend recommended Coventry University as a good place to study. At ONCAMPUS Coventry, I feel at ease and enriched. The teacher is like a friend and compared to a Chinese school I feel in here I learn how to think independently and how to cooperate with the team. I am honoured and happy to be in Coventry. I have met friends from different countries and learned different cultures. I am working hard to get into Year 2 at Coventry University.”

“ONCAMPUS Coventry gave me a very good grounding in English that was appropriate for academic study. The support and the advice have been essential towards progression to my Master’s course and especially writing my dissertation paper. The transition from using English as a second language to being the prime method of communicating, especially in effective writing, is critical for any success at the University - the friendly approach at ONCAMPUS Coventry is a perfect foundation to achieve this.”

Life
In the middle of the campus lies TheHub students’ building. This purpose-built space is where students gather before, after or in-between lectures and tutorials for a spot of lunch, a quick coffee or just to log onto one of the open access computers.
It’s also the home of Coventry University Students’ Union (CUSU) and has a student bar, performing arts space, 2D and 3D cinema and a mini supermarket, among many other things. It really is ‘the hub’ of life on campus.
The University library is your complete learning resource and offers a range of environments spread across five floors. There is lots of provision for individual, silent and group study working, with open areas, bookable rooms and a Learning Lounge, which provides a more relaxed group study area.
TheHub is a purpose-built space for students to socialise and get advice if needed

“I’ve made a few friends here and it’s great because I usually get to spend my evenings in the common room with them where we hang out and watch movies or play games on TV. I find my accommodation to be very safe because of the security present 24/7. We need a key fob to gain access into the building as well as a separate room key card to enter our rooms. The staff are also very helpful here.”
Student CoverIt’s essential for international students to take out adequate insurance while studying. ‘Student Cover’ has been created in partnership with Endsleigh, the UK’s largest student insurance provider. With both standard and premium options, ‘Student Cover’is specifically designed to meet your needs while studying with us – from the time you set off to the moment you arrive back home.
