There are 3 ways to define Space in a work of art:

What is perspective?Artists use perspective to represent three-dimensional (3D) objects on a two-dimensional (2D) surface (example- a piece of paper) in a way that looks realistic

Perspective can create an illusion of space and depth on a flat surface or piece of paper

Let’s break it down so it’s easy

as 1-2-3

First, let’s talk about what type of One Point Perspective Drawing you are expected to draw.

You are going to draw a one point perspective of a dessert.

Final example should look

Step by Step Guide:

Fold your paper in half- to create the horizon line.

After you folded your paper in half- you are going to add your Vanishing Point on that fold (as shown below):

Using your vanishing point as a guide and a ruler you are going to draw 2 Diagonal Lines

(*these will be your guidelines for the next step)

1- from the Vanishing point towards the top right corner

2- from the Vanishing point towards the bottom right corner

Now using those two guidelines you just drew from the previous step- you are going to draw multiple Cacti within them.

Once you completed drawing your Cacti: Draw your Horizon Line on the fold. But do not draw through the Cacti

Using your ruler you are going to draw a line from the Vanishing Point to the bottom center of your page.

This line is going to be the “dirt road” in your perspective drawing.

● Add a background● Add more to the foreground● Add details and texture to

the cacti
