Broad Use AppsFree for individual teachers. School can purchase "Enterprise" version that offers some enhanced capabilities and creates school-based "umbrella" for purposes of administering programs. Has both website and app. Notability ($2.99) The BEST note-taking and annotation app. Can import almost any kind of document and type or write on it. Can record audio notes as well. Excellent for students but also for teacher grading.

Dropbox (Free) Cloud storage service. Free for up to 2GB. Monthly price for higher storage amount. Can gain more storage through referring friends.

Favorite Humanities Apps (but good for other uses too)

Explain Everything ($2.99) Great app for developing presentations that include images, video, and audio. Can export presentations to YouTube or camera roll as videos. Connects with Dropbox and other cloud storage services.

Book Creator ($4.99) Worth the price. Allows for creation of multi-media books (containing text, visuals, and audio) and publication to iBooks, all from the iPad. Super easy to use. Great option for portfolios, book reports, term projects, etc.

Kidblog (free) Website and app allow teachers to create a private blog for each class (up to 50 students per class) under which students can create their own personal blogs. Not public, but viewable within class. User-friendly and fun.

Favorite Humanities Apps (but good for other uses too)

Padlet (free). Website that allows users to create public or private "corkboard" style spaces for posting or collecting information. Works on any device. Highly versatile and easy to use.

YouTube Capture (free). Simple app that allows user to add clips of video together to create one larger video for uploading to YouTube. Great for quick assessments, video flashcards, etc.

Talkboard (free). Collaborative white space that students can work on together live from multiple devices. It's the simplest of collaboration apps (more robust ones include Quip and BaiboardHD) but works great for interactive work.

Some other great apps for humanities teachers...(if only I had more time...)
