Under changing global scenario and conscious
approach, the quality, competitive pricing,
environmental sustainability are the key
elements of agricultural production system.
With a view to focus the attention on handling
and processing; and to tackle specific areas to
arrive at practical recommendations, scientific
e f for t s shou ld be made to deve lop
technologies for horticultural crops. There is
need to develop protocol for post harvest
handling of those crops which includes
harvesting, sorting, grading, packaging etc.,
which could be very remunerative. Several by-
products are very popular from those
horticultural crops but needs to be explored
commercially. Strengthened of handling and
processing research and establishment of
processing unit at different locations will serve
the training purpose and encourage the youth
to come forward to be an entrepreneurs in
processing industries.
With this view, one week online training
course on “Smart Handling and Processing
Systems of Horticultural Produce” is being
organized by CAAST-CSAWM, MPKV, Rahuri
from May 09-14, 2020 daily through online
mode.
Objectives:
