BLACK SCREEN, SUPER HERO MONTAGE.

Badass dramatic music starts playing as the girls appear onscreen one by one with their superhero costumes on. Theylook beautiful, fierce and a little terrifying.

-VESTA's (Nora) eyes start to glow and until they becomefire red.

-She moves her fingers slightly until she creates fire.-SHEENA (Bridget) does a complicated and fast karate move.-She lands both feet on the floor and the floor cracks.-BREEZY (Nikki) jumps really high and stays afloat.-Close up to her face and her long hair floating on its own.-BLUE (Alex) walks towards the camera with confident steps.With one wave of her hand, water splashes all around herlike magic.-She looks like she is about to say something extremely coolwhen her expression changes to one of shock.

BLUE

Oh shit I forgot to record!

As the camera pans out we see that the black screen isactually a black piece of fabric the girls have hung intheir living room with clothespins. There is a camera on atripod recording. Or actually not recording.

SHEENA VESTA BREEZYAgain?! Oh come on! I am NOT jumping again for ya'all.

2 WEEKS EARLIER

EXT. FLAT ENTRANCE, DAY

ALEXIS (18) stands in the doorway of her new flat, holding aa large travel bag. She wears jeans and a Star Wars T-Shirt.

ALEX. 18. MAJOR: MEDIA. FANGIRL. Appears on screen next toher.

She rings the doorbell nervously. NORA (21) opens the door.She has paint all over her clothes, face and body and herhair is in a messy bun being held together by pencils.

NORAHello roomie!

NORA. 21. MAJOR: ART. A NICE PERSON. Appears on screen nextto her.

Nora drags Alex inside The Flat.

INT. FLAT CORRIDOR, DAY

ALEXNora hi! Sorry I'm late, I had toliterally take seventeen buses toget here from my mom's house.

NORADon't worry about it, you gave metime to get ready.

Alex looks at her awkwardly, doesn't understand if she'sbeing sarcastic or not.

NORA (CONT'D)Welcome to your new home. As youknow, besides your roommate I amalso your landlord but that doesn'tmean I'm scary or secretly an old,

loud man. Let me get that for you.

Nora takes Alex's travel bag from her shoulder.

ALEXOh no don't worry about it, it's-

NORAAh!

The travel bag is too heavy, Nora drops it.

ALEX-too heavy.

NORA(PICKS IT UP AGAIN)

What chu got in there partner,rocks?

ALEX(ATTEMPTS TO SOUND FUNNY)

Jesus Christ Marie, they'reminerals.

It's Nora's turn to look at Alex awkwardly.

ALEX (CONT'D)(EMBARASSED)

Ah, it's just some last minutestuff I didn't want to leavebehind. Toys, DVDs-

NORAYour rich aunt's dead body?

ALEX

Huh?

NORANothing buddy. Come on.

Nora goes further inside the house, carrying the bag.

ALEXYou really don't have to-

NORAI insist! Before we go to yourroom, let me introduce you to yourother roomates slash future bestfriends. They are both so excitedto see you.

INT. NIKKI'S BEDROOM, DAY

NIKKI (20, Indian) is lying face down on her bed, snoringloudly. She is still wearing the clothes from last night.

Her entire room is a mess, with take out food containerseverywhere and scattered notes on the floor.

NIKKI. 20. MAJOR: MEDICINE. NEEDS TO GET SHIT TOGETHER.Appears on screen next to her.

Nora and Alex stand in her doorway.

NORA(WHISPERING)

This is Nikki. She's almost alwaysout or asleep but if you're luckyenough to find her concious she's aa real sweetheart.

INT. BRIDGET'S BEDROOM, DAY

Almost entirely black and white, Bridget's room wouldprobably make Tim Burton wet himself. If Goth chic was evera thing, this room would be it.

ALEXWoah.

NORA

Yes that's Bridget's room, let's gonow.

ALEXWould she mind us being in here?

Alex turns around and BRIDGET (20) has magically appearedbehind her. She stands intimindatingly close to Alex. Alexyelps.

BRIDGET

Yes she would.

BRIDGET. 20. MAJOR: LITERATURE. SCARY. Appears on screennext to her.

ALEX(EXTREMELY IMPRESSED)

That was so awesome I peed alittle.

BRIDGETGet out and never come in hereagain.

ALEXYes ma'am.

NORABye Bridge, love ya!

The two girls leave.

INT. ALEX'S BEDROOM, DAY

Nora opens the door and drops the bag on the floor. The roomis full of Alex's moving boxes, which have already arrived.Alex looks around happilly.

NORAI'm gonna let you get settled in. Ineed to get back to the portait ofmy mom's new cat. I'll see youlater.

ALEXThanks a lot, this room is awesome.

Nora goes out of the room and closes the door.

NORA (CONT'D)Oh and Alex!

She opens the door again. The boxes have magically beenunpacked, the room is full of Alex's stuff and she sits onthe bed with her laptop open, click, click, clicking away.She looks up.

NORA (CONT'D)I think we're going to have so muchfun together.

Nora smiles and leaves.

INT.LIVING ROOM, NIGHT

Nora stands on the stairs. She wears different clothes butstill has paint on her face and arms. Bridget and Nikki siton the floor, in front of a chess board.

NORA(SHOUTS)

Alex! You've been in there for twofull days! Bathroom breaks andsneaking into the kitchen at threeam to make Mac and Cheese don'tcount!

NIKKI(TO BRIDGET)

Has she always sounded thisstalkerish or does the new girl oweher money already?

NORAShe does not owe me money, she'spaid the first eight weeks inadvance.

BRIDGETSo she's rich and she's quiet, shecould die in there for all youcare.

NORAI just want us all to have somebonding time as roomates. We livewith this girl and we wouldn't evenknow her last name if it wasn't inthe lease. What do you think she'seven doing up there?

INT. ALEX'S BEDROOM, NIGHT

"MEANWHILE" APPEARS ON THE LEFT OF THE SCREEN LIKE IN ACOMIC BOOK.

- Alex is still click, click, clicking away on her laptop,sitting on her desk. AN ARROW POINTING AT THE LAPTOP AND THEWORDS "WRITING FAN FICTION" APPEAR ON SCREEN.

-Alex and her laptop have now moved things to the bed. Sheclicks rapidly and looks furious. AN ARROW POINTING AT THE

LAPTOP AND THE WORDS "FIGHTING WITH SOMEONE WHO IS WRONG ONTHE INTERNET." APPEAR ON SCREEN

-Alex makes her Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond figurines kiss,while she speaks in their voices. AN ARROW POINTING AT THISWEIRDNESS AND THE WORDS "RECITING FAN FICTION" APPEAR ONSCREEN.

-Alex has changed positions on the bed. She watchessomething and eats leftover Mac and Cheese. AN ARROWPOINTING AT THE LAPTOP AND THE WORDS "THE WALKING DEAD"APPEAR ON SCREEN. Alex shouts "Don't do it Daryl!"

ALEXDon't do it Daryl!

She stuffs her mouth with more Mac and Cheese.

INT. LIVING ROOM, NIGHT.

The girls have not moved a muscle.

NIKKI

Nora, dude relax. She's going tocome out eventually. I mean shewill run out of underwear at somepoint.

NORASomeone please go up there and askher to come hang out.

NIKKI BRIDGET NO! NO!

BRIDGETWe're in the middle of a game here.

NIKKIWait really? I thought we were juststaring at the squares.

NORAPlease?

NIKKINo!

NIKKIPlease please?

BRIDGETNo!

Nikki and Bridget stand behind Alex while she clicks. ANARROW POINTING AT THE LAPTOP AND THE WORDS "WHICH 1D MEMBERSHOULD YOU MARRY" APPEAR ON THE SCREEN.

BRIDGETWe're all hanging out together orelse I'm going to shave your headwhen you're asleep tonight.

NIKKI

I'm gonna need so much booze.



7.

INT. KITCHEN, NIGHT.

All four girls are sitting on the kitchen table, facing eachother. There are five bottles of alcohol in front of themand a shot glass for each.

NORA

So the game is called I Never.

NIKKIYou do know I Never, right newbie?You're not some kind of drinkinggame virgin or anything?

BRIDGETBecause if you are we're going tohave to sacrifice you on the nextfull moon.

ALEXDon't worry I've known about INever since the first season ofLOST.

NIKKIOh God.

Nikki grabs a bottle and takes a generous gulp.

NORAAlright, Alex you're the lady ofhonour tonight so why don't youstart?

ALEXOk..um....I never skinny dipped.

The girls are unimpressed. They all drink.

NORA Alex starting us off lightly.Let's step up our game!

ALEX

But that's the wildest thing I'vedone this year.

BRIDGETI never dialed my ex whileintoxicated and begged hisanswering machine to take me back.

Bridget, Nikki and Nora drink, embarassed and a little sad.

NORABut we are all strong, intelligent

women here.

ALEXActually, I've only been drunk onceto my second cousin's wedding andI've never been high.

NIKKIIt's like seeing a Unicorn.

ALEXI'm not going to get far with thisgame am I?

INT. KITCHEN, NIGHT.

"AFTER A WHILE" APPEARS ON THE LEFT OF THE SCREEN LIKE IN ACOMIC BOOK."(NOT THAT LONG A WHILE)" APPEARS BELOW IT."(AN EMBARASSING AMOUNT OF WHILE)" APPEARS BELOW IT."(SERIOUSLY HOW FAST DO THESE GIRLS DRINK?)" APPEARS BELOW

Nora, Nikki and Bridget are all good and drunk. The bottleshave emptied. The kitchen looks grim. Alex is still soberand uncomfortable.

ALEXYeah, never gonna happen.

NIKKI(GIGGLING)

You're lame.

BRIDGETHow can you be a freshman and nevergotten high?

NIKKIOr laid?

BRIDGETOr drunk!

ALEXI just haven't felt like it. I've

never been a big party person andthose things usually happen atparties. Big crowds make menervous.

NORAQuit teasing the youngster please!

Nora gasps.

NORA (CONT'D)

Maybe she's a spy! That's why shehas to be sober all the time so shecan keep tabs on our every move!



9.

BRIDGETNora, your life is not thatinteresting.

NIKKI(POINTS AT ALEX)

This girl's getting me down. I need

more juice.

BRIDGETThere's no more. Stores are closed.We're done for the night.

ALEXWe could sneak into the student labon campus...There's always loads ofalcohol there.

NORA

(IMPRESSED)Woah!

NIKKIFinally something I can roll with.

BRIDGETKeep talking, Calamity Jane.

EXT. COLLEGE ENTRANCE, NIGHT.

"SO THEN" APPEARS ON THE LEFT OF THE SCREEN.

The girls climb a fence. Alex trips and falls.

EXT. LAB ENTRANCE, NIGHT.

"THEY BROKE" APPEARS ON THE LEFT OF THE SCREEN.

The girls walk towards THE LAB, shushing each other. Nikkibreaks the lock.

INT. THE LAB, NIGHT.

"INTO THE LAB" APPEARS ON THE LEFT OF THE SCREEN.

Bridget kicks the door open. The Lab looks more like itbelongs to a mad scientist than a college. There aretransparent bottles of multi colored liquids everywhere, askeleton, weird looking machinery, etc.

NIKKIYo, this place is downright scary.

BRIDGET

You've never been in here before?



11.

Bridget takes the bottle.

BRIDGET (CONT'D)I never had a best friend.

NORAHey what about us?

Nora gestures between herself and Nikki.

NORA (CONT'D)We've been living together for ayear don't we count as your bestfriends?

BRIDGETYou recently crossed the line fromIrrelevant to Barely Tolerable.

NIKKI(TO NORA)Trust me that's a milestone.

Bridget drinks until the bottle is empty.

NORALet me just say one thing.

INT. THE FLAT, LIVING ROOM, NIGHT.

Alex, Nora and Bridget are sprawled on the coutch, Nikki onthe floor.

NORA (CONT'D)This is going to hurt like helltomorrow.

ALEXI feel really weird.

NORADon't worry, it's just becauseyou're not used to it.

NIKKINo, she's right something'sdefinitely happening.

BRIDGETArgh, there's an earthquake in myorgans.

ALEXI'm going to die before theHomeland finale.

NORAThat's funny I don't feel anything-



12.

Nora is interrupted by Nikki's snoring. She looks around andall three of her roommates have passed out. She makes agagging sound and holds her stomach. Her eyes turn red andsuddenly she SPITS FIRE, high up the ceiling. Stunned andterrified, she puts her hand on her mouth, not being able tobelieve what just came out of there. She passes out too.

INT.LIVING ROOM, DAY

Alex wakes up, she looks disoriented, hangover and franklyhorrible. She rubs her eyes and opens them to see Nikki,Nora and Bridget all looking down on her.

NORAPlease don't let the events thatare about to follow make you thinkyou're not welcome into our homeanymore.

Bridget grabs Alex and drags her off the couch.

INT. NORA'S BEDROOM, DAY

Nora's bedroom is very artistic. The walls are all paintedwith bright colors, there are brushes and palleteseverywhere. Bridget forces Alex to sit down in front of thecat portrait.

A SKETCH OF A "STRESSOMETER" APPEARS ON SCREEN NEXT TOALEX AND GRADUALLY MOVES FURTHER UP DURING THE CONVERSATION.

NIKKIWhat the hell was in that purpleshit?

ALEXWhat? I don't know! Random liquidsI mixed. It seemed like a good ideaat the time.

NORASweetie, try to think.

ALEXI don't know, it was all chemicalstuff! There's no way I'll be ableto remember. Do you know how longit took me to learn the waterformula? And that's like only fourletters.

BRIDGETIt's three.

ALEXDid you all wake up with badstomachs or something?

BRIDGETNot exactly.

Bridget picks up a glass vase. She flicks it with twofingers and it smashes into tiny pieces all over the room.Alex screams.

NORAThat was mine!

BRIDGETI had to demonstrate. I became TheHulk overnight.

NORA (TO ALEX)Alex could you please not touch theportrait the paint is still wet.

NIKKI

And what about me? Look at this!

ALEXWhat am I looking at?

NIKKIThe top of my head.

ALEXI don't see any-HOLY CRAP THERE ISSMOKE COMING OUT OFF THE TOP OFYOUR HEAD.

Nikki's head has indeed started fuming.

THE STRESSOMETER IS GOING CRAZY.

NIKKIAnd that's not even the worst part.

Nikki blows briefly and a strong wind overtakes the entireroom. The cat portrait almost falls down.

NORAENOOOOOUGH.

Nora's eyes turn red and fire comes out of her shoulders andhands. Everyone else looks terrified.

ALEX'S STRESSOMETER IS ALMOST AT BREAKING POINT.

Nora grabs Alex by the neck, lifts her off the chair andcrashes her against the wall.

ALEXNora let me go!



16.

BRIDGET (V.O.) (CONT'D)Not much to say about Aquaman hereexcept that she turned our houseinto a baptism.

BRIDGET APPEARS IN THE FOURTH SQUARE.

BRIDGET (V.O.) (CONT'D)As for me, I woke up not being ableto control my own strength and I'mgrowing weirdly fond of trees...getit?

The screen goes back to normal.

NORAThis music's not working.

BRIDGET

Jesus, it's not astrophysics!Hurricanes, fireballs, watersprinkles, trees!

ALEXOh my God I get it! We're allpokemon!

BRIDGETIs she having a stroke orsomething?

ALEXNo really! Bulbasaur, Squirtle,Charmander and Pidgeot.They allrepresent a different element ofnature.

BRIDGETOh we might be going somewhere.

NIKKISo you're saying I'm the one thatlooks like a chicken?

ALEXI'm saying that you are gettingpowers related to the air! Nora isfire, I am water and Bridget isearth. Right?

BRIDGETYes. You'll get your gold starlater. The question is, what do wedo know?

ALEX

What do you mean? This is awesome!

NIKKIWhich part of this, is awesome?

ALEXGuys we are supernatural beingsnow. We can literally become asuperhero squad.

NORAAlex, this is dangerous. I couldn'teven recognise myself back there.I've never hurt anyone in my lifeand I almost strangled you today.

ALEXNo you didn't! You were just upsetand confused. Besides it was kindahot.

NIKKIYeah it was.

BRIDGETNora is right. We don't know whatother side effects can appear andfor how long. We don't even know ifwe'll be able to control them.

ALEXWe'll learn to control them!

NIKKII'm with them. I say we just forgetthis ever happened and try to hideour weirdness the best way we can.

ALEXNo! That's the opposite of whatneeds to happen.

NORASorry sweetie.

BRIDGET

I have to get to class.

Bridget leaves. Nora and Nikki follow. Alex stays on theroof, looking sad. FADE OUT

"SAD MUSICAL MONTAGE" APPEARS ON SCREEN.

SAD MUSICAL MONTAGE

A Sad Song starts playing.

-Bridget sits alone outside of class, reading a Sad Book andsmoking. She looks up and stares sadly at the void.

FREYAGood. The less time you spend withthose girls you share a flat withthe better.

KRISWon't it be better to live with

your husband next year?

NIKKII will think about it dad Ipromise! Listen I have to go nowok? So much studying to do. I loveyou bye!

Nikki puts her phone away. She takes off her glasses andwhite robe and lets her hair down. She joins the rest of herdance group who are warming up. ANTHONY (30) a handsometrainer takes the front of the stage. Nikki takes her place

next to another dancer.

ANTHONYAlright you bow-legged monkeyslet's get started.

NIKKI(TO THE DANCER NEXT TO HER)

Why does he always talk like apirate?

Anthony presses play and the sound of a dance/hip hop songfills the room. Everyone starts following his steps. Nikkistruggles to keep up. She takes a deep breath, closes hereyes and the hip hop music is BLOCKED OUT MOMENTARILLY. Shethen comes back to reality and starts killing it on thedance floor, doing every single move precily right. Shemoves like the wind. She's fast, graceful and confident.Before the song is about to end she jumps.

EVERYTHING ELSE BESIDES HER TURNS ANIMATED AND SLOW MOTION.

Nikki comes back to reality to see that everybody, includingAnthony, has stopped to stare.

ONE OF THE DANCERSI'm sorry I thought this was abeginners class?


Alex is in her pyjamas, still in front of her laptop. Shelooks sad. The lights are all off except a lamp on by herbed.

AN ARROW POINTING AT IT AND THE WORDS "SENTIMENTAL OLD VIDEOSTOLEN FROM MOTHER'S COLLECTION AND DIGITALLY ALTERED TO

PLAY IN A COMPUTER" ARE ON THE SCREEN.

Nora walks in.

NORAHey...can I come in for a minute?

ALEXNora I'm sorry I don't-

NORA

I made us Let's Make Up cupcakes.

ALEXCome in immidiately.

Nora walks in Alex's room and sits on her bed besides her.She leaves the plate of cupcakes standing between them.Nora's eyes catches the screen.

NORAIs that you in that little outfit?

ALEX(SMILES)Yeah...and those are my two olderbrothers trying to make me fly.

COMPUTER SCREEN:

We see a tiny Alex dressed up as Wonder Woman and two biggerboys trying to hold her up their heads so she can "fly".There is an older man in the corner, laughing at all this.

NORAAnd who's that?

ALEXThat's my dad. He died a couple ofyears after that video was taken.

NORAOh no Alex I am so sorry.

ALEXIt's ok...He was just so passionateabout raising us to believe inmagic and extraordinary things. You

know, he made me watch Star Warsbefore I could even read.

Nora chuckles.

ALEX (CONT'D)I just really wanted to make himproud of me I guess.

Nora looks down. She doesn't know what to say. Alex sighsand grabs a cupcake. She takes a generous bite and Norafollows her example.

NORAHey wanna see something cool?

ALEXThis is probably rude of me becauseI don't know Nikki that well butmay I go out on a limb here and sayshe's possibly high?

BRIDGET

No she only does pot and pot makesher lazy not hyper.

Nikki creeps up on them on the stairs with a paranoid smileon her face.

NIKKIStop talking about me like I'm notin the room. Ah, never mind I'm toophyched to care. All of you, to ourSecret Meeting Spot! That's a lamename. Never mind we'll figure out

the name later.

Nikki climbs the stairs enthusiastically. The other stare ather.

NIKKI (CONT'D)The roof! Let's go!

EXT. THE ROOF, NIGHT.

"AN HOUR AND AN INCREDIBLY DETAILED NARRATION OF A DANCEROUTINE LATER" APPEARS ON SCREEN.

NIKKI (CONT'D)And then I jumped but I didn't justjump ok I mother effing FLOATEDabove the ground and everybody fellat least 30% in love with me,including our foxy instructorAnthony whom I'm totally planningon landing later.

NORA

Right Nikki, I'm sure we're allvery happy for you and yourquote-unquote "sick dance skillz"but let me just be the one to askif there is a point to this story.

NIKKIDude the point is dancing naked infront of you with a neon sock onits genitals.

ALEX

BRIDGETIt's her new powers. They made hera better dancer.

NIKKIDING DING DING! We have a winner!

BRIDGETIt happened to me too.

ALEXOh you go to dance classestogether?

BRIDGETSomebody gag her. No, there wasthis pathetic guy trying to steal acar and before I knew what I wasdoing I ended up...kicking him

really hard on his chin.

NIKKIHOLY SHIT. His chin?!

ALEXHow did you even get up there?

NIKKIOh my God show me, please show me.

BRIDGETI'd rather have Nora set me onfire.

NIKKI(STARTS POKING BRIDGET)

Come on, it will be a one timething. Just do it once and thennever think about it again. Comeshow me. You know you want to showme. Bridge I really want to see it.Come on Wreck-It-Ralph!

Bridget gets up, jumps, does a perfect kick, knocks over

three flowerpots and upon landing, the floor cracks.Everybody freaks out. Bridget smiles.

NIKKIOh my God. See I can't stop now, Igotta see more.Just once. Alex showus what you got.

Alex looks nervous. She takes a deep breath and approachesthe part of the floor Bridget cracked. She bends down andtouches the floor. Soon there is water running inside thecracks.

NORAAlex that is amazing!



26.

BRIDGETZip it. There's no way this couldever work. What do we do, we put oncostumes and masks and defend theCity that Always Sleeps? Nothingever happens here.

ALEXTrust me, I know an Origins storywhen I see one. Things will starthappening soon.

NORAThis all sounds very exciting butwe're college students. How am Igoing to deal with deadlines andbeing a human radiator?

ALEX

You're going to have to deal withit anyway! Those powers will takeover your life whether you like itor not. You might as well have somefun with it!

NIKKI"Might as well have some fun."Girl's just layed down my lifemotto. What the hell. I'm in.

ALEXYes!

NIKKINora, I know your better judgementis fighting with your need to feelincluded right now so just give into that needyness.

BRIDGET(APPEARS TO BE THINKING)

I'm in but let's get one thingclear. This does not mean we'regoing to turn into The Brady Bunch.We are NOT eating cookie dough icecream and watching About Time

together any time soon.

NORADamn that sounds amazing.

NIKKIBring it in everybody!

The girls join hands. THE FRAME FREEZES ON THEIR HANDS ANDSLOWLY TURNS INTO AN ANIMATED SCENE WITH LEAVES GROWING OUTOF BRIDGET'S HAND, FIRE CIRCLING NORA'S HAND, WATER AROUNDALEX'S HAND AND SMOKE AROUND NIKKI'S HAND.

TRANSFORMATION MONTAGE

-Alex is on her laptop, typing fast again.

-We see on the screen that she has created a SUPERHERO BLOG.She types the first entry.

-Nora is in her room, drawing.

-We see on paper that she is designing the girls costumesand masks.

-Nikki and Bridget are on the roof, wearing their masks andworking on their kicks. Alex is videotaping it.

-Nora writes SUPERHERO NAMES on a big piece of paper. Theothers watch her do it.

ALEXI've had a superhero name since theage of four. It's Blue, which Ibelieve fits perfectly for mebecause water is blue.

BRIDGETThis is the person whose idea we'veall agreed to.

-Bridget pretends to be reading Kafka on campus. We see thatshe is secretly reading superhero comic books.

-Nora measures Alex for the costumes and Alex is ticklish.

-Back to the superhero names scene.

NIKKI

I want to be Breezy.

NORAI can be Vesta. She was a RomanGoddess of the hearth and its fireand in her temple, a perpatualflame was tended by the vestalvirgins.

NORAYes, actually.
