Muchas Gracias, brothers and sisters in Christ. Your prayers and gener-ous gifts will allow us to reach out to Nicaragua’s poorest and embrace them with the love of God. We never know what opportunities to serve, God will show us, but because of you, we will be ready to respond. The baby bags are all filled and packed. We are still in need of travel size toilet-ries and grooming items. We will be packing all the bags the last of May. We leave the thirteenth of June. Please continue to pray for our mission trip.

Ephesians 3:20-21: Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all genera-tions, for ever and ever! Amen.

Presbyterian Women’s Circle Meetings

Circle 1 will meet at the home of Ann Bouchillon on Tuesday, May 6, at 10:00 a.m.

Circle 2 will meet at the home of Betty Robinson on Tuesday, May 6, at 10:00 a.m.

Circle III will meet on Tuesday, May 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the Clark’s Grove Pavilion. Janet Carmichael will lead us in Lesson 8 “Temptations Along the Way”, and then we will enjoy a picnic lunch. Jean Blair will be our hostess. Inclement weather plans are to meet in Jean’s home.

Montreat Retreat is set for November 7-9, 2014

The congregation is invited to the church retreat in Montreat. Please register using the bright yellow form which can be found on the table in the narthex. If you’ve never attended, you are in for a real treat! Just ask Billy Wade, Dan Walden, or anyone who has attended. There will be an article in the May First Press telling a bit about Montreat and the retreat.

Guest Organist from Agnes Scott College Will Play at First Presbyterian Church on Sunday, May 11

Yinying Luo, graduating Senior from Agnes Scott College, will play several pieces before and during the 11:00 AM Worship Service on Sunday, May 11. Yinying has been studying organ for three and a half years, as the student of Dr. Calvert Johnson, Charles A. Dana Professor Emeritus of Music. This Fall, following graduation from Agnes Scott College, Yinying will be pursuing a Master of Music degree at Julliard School, as a student of Paul Jacobs, Chairman of the Department of Music. Yinying is a native of Shen-zhen, China, and plans to be a Concert Organist.
