The goal of Futurepast’s training courses is to ensure that users of ISO GHG standards have access to the most accurate and useful information related to the published 2nd editions of ISO 14064.

Futurepast offers six online courses on verification and validation of GHG statements that can be taken individually, or as a package for a discounted price. The courses are interactive and available 24-hours a day. In accordance with ASTM E2659-18, a certificate will be awarded for individuals who have successfully completed a course module, or a suite of course modules, and passed the exam. The courses are provided through Thinkific, an online course platform, so an Internet connection is required.

You will receive instruction from a leading expert. Our courses are authored by Dr. John Shideler and presented by John and other recognized verification/validation experts. John provided key input to the three ISO working groups that developed ISO 14064 Parts 1 and 3, and ISO 14067. John has more than ten years’ experience as an accredited verifier and validator. He currently serves as chairman of ISO TC207 Subcommittee 4 on Environmental performance evaluation, and as a member of the ISO Technical Management Board’s Climate Change Coordination Task Force. He is the Climate Services Manager for NSF International, an accredited third-party verification and validation body.

Online GHG Verification Training

0-001-IN: FREE Introductory Course to ISO 14064In this course we’ll introduce you to some of the many greenhouse gas standards produced by ISO. You will also learn about changes to ISO 14064 Part 3.

3-001-IN: Introduction to ISO 14064 Part 3, 2nd EditionIn this introductory course you'll learn about the changes to the second edition of ISO 14064 Part 3. Additionally, we'll review some key climate change facts and then introduce the profession of greenhouse gas verification and validation.

3-002-RA: Verification of Greenhouse Gas Statements (Reasonable Assurance)This module covers verification at the reasonable level of assurance. We describe in detail the requirements for the planning, execution and completion phases of verification engagements.

3-003-LA: Verification of Greenhouse Gas Statements(Limited Assurance)In this course we’ll explain the requirements for performing verification engagements at the limited level of assurance.

3-004-VA: Validation of Forecast Information in GHG ProjectsIn this course you’ll learn how project validation is planned,executed and completed in accordance with ISO 14064:2019 Part 3. You’ll also learn why validators do not provide assurance with their opinions of forecast information.

3-005-ME: Methodologies Used in Mixed EngagementsIn this course we’ll explain how mixed engagements can be used with verification engagements conducted at the reasonable or limited levels of assurance, or with validation engagements. We’ll also describe how agreed-upon procedures can be used withverification engagements.

3-006-AB: Guidance for Accreditation Body AssessorsIn this course module we provide accreditation body assessors with additional background and information about selected requirements in ISO 14064 Part 3. Of course we also think this information will also be useful to verifiers and validators.
