A-LEVEL INTRO
Dear Fifth Form
With your taught lessons ending on Thursday 7th May (Trinity Week 3), we wanted to
provide you with some useful opportunities to pursue in the weeks before half-term.
BEFORE & DURING HALF-TERM
We know you are eager to keep making progress and taking a break from lessons does not
mean you have to break from learning. In the following two weeks and during school half
term, we suggest two areas of activity to help you sharpen your skills, academics and
creative passions:
1. ETON X – online courses certificated by Eton College and facilitated by Dean Close
Dean Close is pleased to offer you a choice of Eton X Courses. These are accessible and
high-quality certificated courses that provide training in future skills that are likely to be
useful as you embark on your next learning steps and beyond.
Each course can be done in a week, though you can take longer if you wish, and they are
ideal for the two/three week period available to you before and during half-term. The
choice of courses include the following and all Fifth Form pupils can opt-in to one or two
courses of their choice:
2. LEVELLING UP - skills and interests explorer
Whether you are preparing for A-levels, other qualifications, or expanding your interests,
the following online resources and links can take your knowledge, experience and passions
to a whole new level. Including additional online courses, academic collections,
miscellaneous online skills classes, and a host of recommended reading, viewing and
doings, make the most of your lockdown and see where your exploration takes you.
AFTER HALF-TERM
A-LEVEL INTRODUCTIONS - laying the foundations
