Teaching Writing in the Common Core Era
Thursday, March 14, 13
Writing short is going to matter as much as writing long.
Writing won’t be contained to a five-paragraph essay.
Writing arguments will require excellent reasoning.
Writing will need to matter to others, and to you.
Writing craft is about surprise. Surprise matters.
Writing cannot be conventional.
Writing is a world changer.
Writing will change your life.
Writing will need to stand out.
Writing reflects the treasure of life.

Student Testimonials I like google docs and google drive because we can make a Document or a Presentation and share it with anyone
who wants to see it while working collaboratively.
-Alyssa
That I can write about almost anything and what's cool about writing on Google Drive is that after I finish writing it saves it
without me doing anything.
-Evan
I like how we can work on each others writing and that we can comet so if we get something
wrong we could point that out to others. Also because it makes us smarter and we can get ready for
the future.
-Alyssa P.
You can share a document with your class or friends and work on the
same document on Google Drive and everyone can see how hard you
worked on it and make your teacher proud.
-Diego D.
I like that I can read my writing on the computer better and it is more fun then on paper. Also, it takes faster to write online because you don't have to worry
about messy writing.
